Hello everyone
Just got asked to quote this one
Window clean
He was on a conference call so just said send me a quote
I’ll send an estimate for
1st clean £75 (not Connie roof)
Monthly £45
2 monthly £60 which I’d rather do as off my round but fit in with another 2 monthly job
I’m gonna say will need to see as he’s after a gutter clear too
Thanks just interested to see your guesstimate’s
I usually come in a bit cheap
Sorry pictures jumbled
-
£85.00 every two months. Would include velux windows.
-
Thanks Slacky
My price includes velux’s too 👍
Where do you live/work?
-
£85.00 every two months. Would include velux windows.
Yeah sounds about right under an hour to clean that,45 notes to clean that is a joke even if it was every week.
-
£85 is a bit steep
i would charge £65 every two months
Conny roof extra
-
Ok
NWH, thanks for your help 👍
So my 1st clean price should be my every clean price 😳
-
Thanks Swanson
Looks like we’re closer on price 👍
-
that job is 30-40 mins work on a maintenance clean....id go in at £60 8 weekly including skylights...i wouldnt give them a 4 weekly option....
i wouldnt charge a first clean price unless they were really dirty....
i have quite a few properties like this on my books all within a 2 mile radius......easy money......
-
Thanks Daz 👍
I’d get that done in just under an hour
I’m a slow coach using cold 🥶 water 💦
Lee
-
Lee - I think you are about right our beloved Nigel needs to charge hundreds to cover the cost of all those cracked windows 🤪🤪🤪
Darran
-
Thanks Smudger 👍
Happy Easter 🐣 everyone 🐣😷
-
Ignore Darren he’s a swivel chair 🪑 fool like the other one that comes on here from time to time when he can prize his fingers apart from the shape of a pitched roof while he lectures you lol, that’s 85 notes all day long and way into the night in the areas I work if you want to clean stuff like that for half the price DM me I’ll give you a job 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I’d get that all day long in my areas for 85 notes 45-65 wouldn’t even be on my radar when pricing that. 👍
-
Price every single job like you are cleaning it don’t price it for a monkey boy to go round it with cold water and a hybrid pole wearing Dunlop’s

Hello Martin
I estimate £75 to clean all windows skylights on house
Including conservatory too
But Not conservatory roof.
If you were to continue with a regular service then
£50 monthly
Or
£65 every 8 weeks
If you were interested I would need to come and see just to confirm price
Also to look at gutter’s
If you meant emptying gutter’s (of moss leaves etc)
I survey gutter’s with a camera to give a quote
I’m in Epping Thursday
So could pop over late morning / midday
Thanks Lee
-
65 or 85 you can lose em all the same 20 quid won’t make any difference is that Epping London.
-

£100 per hour all day long but can't successfully employ.
Sole trader one day, then "we, us" the next and back again.
Should be smashing the VAT threshold within 6 months of a trading year...but isn't VAT registered.
One would assume at this level of income a 5k purchase would be neither here nor there, but persistently uses it to somehow substantiate all of the above?

£0.5 per velux window and £0.5 per patio door, then £0.3 per window after that.
corrected your prices for you
-
£30 every 8 weeks 20 if they go monthly including the roof for free, the sticker right across my forehead will get me the job that says desperately need more work.
If you price these jobs badly or wrong in the first place it’ll take forever to get it to what it should be take it from someone that’s been there years ago,I’ve sorted so much wheat from chaff I almost took up farming.
-
Hi Lee
I reckon that's a nice easy 1 hour job, including travelling. (I'm guessing it's near other work).
So whatever you fancy for an hour? Nice property, good access, easy parking. I reckon your price is good (I'd stick with the 2 monthly).
Personally, I wouldn't even take it on, I'm 56 years old, refining my round, with loads of work coming in.
I couldn't be bothered with those dormers and velux, I am getting a lazy git!
-
Thanks Robbo 👍
Glad to hear your full up !
I know what you mean
I’m happy to add jobs £20 upwards
No to flats and terraced houses
Gated entry pads (hopefully this one isn’t)
Find out tomorrow 🤔
Been asked recently to do solar panel’s for a newish customer
Kicking that to the kerb
Shallow roof pitch means large sloping ladder angle, no thanks
Customer obviously won’t pay company with mini tower
Panels 11 years old! Need a wash 🧽
Been doing quotes for couple of customers
UPVC f/s/g cleaning
No takers
I’m to dear 😁
I’m obviously not experienced enough wfp
Only been doing 15 years
Customers tell me how quick and easy it will be to do with my equipment 🤦♂️

if he did he wouldnt of sold his round! ::)roll ;D
This would put my quote less than the £80 odd quote mentioned at the beginning. Unless ive missed any windows, it would roughly put the price in the £70's.
It wasnt a happy or easy decission to sell up Daz, but needs must and even though im not even a part timer anymore lol ;D ;D with working 2 days a month, ive not changed the pricing strategy too much. Lol, perhaps I should as im not using my concrete melting hot water either 🤣🤣 (oh I do miss it tho)

Well going by your price structure the back alone would be about £45 and that’s without the conservatory! Would be over £100 with your claims of £5 per Velux, £3 per window🤦♂️
-
Maths and hot water were never NK's strongest suits ;D

Looks about 45 minute job.
So £45ish
More if im travelling out of my area to do it.
-
At 45 you’ll be putting all the good established WCs out of business m8,that ain’t no 45 quid job in my book,I might get it and then find out he was charging that and that’s why he’s not been back when he wakes up and thinks I went in too low.
Again I ask you what are you ending up with in you’re pocket after cleaning that for 45 notes, water production poles the list is endless what does it earn you after all that 20-25 notes ? Bit of a light bulb moment isn’t it m8 🤣🤣🤣

Not really mate, if i worked where you worked my prices would no doubt be much higher, but i dont so they aint. Your prices have no relevance to me at all.
-
It matters not m8 that’s not a 45 quid job anywhere imo if you clean frames sills etc,if that’s 45 what are you’re smaller jobs priced like.
-
This is where some numpty who works in and around Royal Tunbridge Wells preaches to others who live in normal sometimes working class towns about pricing.
It’s not relevant, it never will be relevant and you clearly do not understand simple market forces.
-
I have cleaned all types of houses m8 I’ve been doing it a while I’m not having a dig at anyone in particular trust me some parts of Tunbridge Wells are a 💩hole but I don’t go anywhere near there,Tunbridge Wells is a very affluent area but not as affluent as other areas I work.
Tunbridge Wells is a short hop to London Bridge most days under an hour so a lot of very wealthy people live near to there but in the main it’s used as a railway station for them.
-
What a bunch of handbag-swingers there are bitching on this thread.
::)roll
-
👜
-
It’s got nothing to do with handbags m8 if you aren’t struggling and you don’t clean 3 bed semis you get haters, read or listen psychology it’s all there some people have no salt and vinegar left in their cupboards they’ve used it all on the chips on their shoulders 👌
-
is that a self refering post Nigel ?
-
I’ve got nothing to have a chip about my Love 😍 I’m content enough with my little lot.
Many thanks kind regards X

NWH-
Either, Two, or most probably all Three!
a) had no toys as a child
b) was bullied at school
c) all his friends have 'proper jobs'
-
Lol non of the above I’m afraid too many toys never bullied in my life and all the rest of my family have proper jobs 🤣🤣🤣,if life gives you lemons make lemonade.
-
No I agree - never bullied - just a bully who like to put everyone else's effort down
Nigel my lovely - YOU do have a very big chip on your shoulder and an Ego to go with it - try reading your posts - you always have to put other down, your always right and the best - no other opinions count but your own - its very very sad - more over after all these years your boring to boot
Darran
oh, hang on let's have several posts full of lol's ........
such a sad, sad man...

Ring any bells?😄
How to tell if you have a superiority complex
The symptoms of superiority complex may include:
high valuations of self-worth
boastful claims that aren’t backed up by reality
attention to appearance, or vanity
overly high opinion of one’s self
a self-image of supremacy or authority
unwillingness to listen to others
overcompensation for specific elements of lifemood swings, often made worse by contradiction from another person
-
Those are also traits that could be attributed to a narcissistic personality or even a sociopath...
-
And a tw@t.

Just to add a realistic price amongst all the bullpoop I’ve just read
45mins work after first clean IMO
£30-40 4 weekly, dependant on client assessment reliability job situation etc and payment method. Bank transfer incurs a 20% due to a robbing idiot known as the tax man
There’s so many variables if they’re filthy and they’ve lived there years then I’d treat it as a one off £80 and it’d take me couple hours steady pace to get em right
£80 or £100 an hour basis for work as a window cleaner you’ll be losing jobs to new kids charging £10 an hour left right and centre
Take all jobs on reasonably priced if you get everything quoted but need to raise a few up a bit your still winning in my book to not getting half of them cus you quote too high
-
I’m coming down London to leaflet drop if this is true you’ve gave the area away so see you soon ;) £100 an hour so £8-1000 a day possible £6k a week £312k yearly so 3x doctors wage and more than most managing directors earn in reasonable size companies?
Yeaaa mate hahahahaha

Each to their own but I earn £80-£90 an hour on SOME work no problem and I've been cleaning this work for years....some of it is domestic too....🙂👍
-
Yes I’ve some terraced that I’ve picked more on around and can do £70 hourly but I don’t base new jobs at that rate. Always find new ways to do each house quicker and quicker so it tends to be more on the £40 side anyways. £100 an hour every hour would be nice though ::)roll

£30-40 for that is not reasonable money that’s way to cheap , we have loads of 4 weekly work similar amount of windows to the one in the picture that take 30-60 muinits prices are £65-100 and we don’t loose work to cheaper firms , maybe location will alter prices a bit , but anyone doing that for £30-40 is going to be a busy fool .

Some window cleaners have lost the plot.

Jim said 30 to 40 for 45 mins - it depends where your next job is to that one
Darran
-

Darran
Exactly so with a few muinits to drive to the job and a few to the next job it’s going to be an hour , £30-40 per hour isn’t to be sniffed at but you will need a 35-45 foot pole for the velux windows costing at least 1k all of a sudden it’s a very underpriced job , you could easily be doing compact estate work moving a few hundred yards per day earning £70-90 per hour much easier and more profitable work by far .
-
Yeah and 5 mins max to next job? I have one day a month where I travel a max of 10mins between jobs most jobs are probably a minute travel between each other surely? And by look of that photo can’t say without standing infront of it for sure but I could reach those velux off the top of medium size stepladder with a 25ft pole one handed maybe but manageable
-
Yes I would agree with you there - I have some the same and just using stepladder on the 2nd or 3rd step makes for an easy reach
Darran
-

I have a couple of bungalows that I have to use a 35 foot pole at full extension to reach velux Windows on I very much doubt you would reach that with a 25 foot .

I would be happy with £45 an hour for that job.but regarding your post how are you possibly losing £20-£25 on an hours job
-
I take it you don’t have any costs then so every job you get for 45 notes for that goes in you’re pocket then I take it with not one expense, what happens if you need a clutch for a grand if you don’t factor in costs you’ll pay for it not the customer.
A good rule of thumb is ask yourself how much you want in you’re pocket at the end of the week, add 50% you might end up with covering any unsuspecting bills and making a profit so if I wanted 50 notes for me out of a job I’d go in at 75.
-
Obviously I have outgoings as does everybody but if you're working it out at losing £25 on an hour job then on a thirty hour week you would be down £750.and regarding being left with £50 in your pocket working at 50% then you would have to quote £100 not £75 otherwise you would be earning 2/3rd or if you was working on 50% you would come out with £37.50
-
The example I was using was look at the job and think I want to earn 50 for doing this job if you automatically take into account well I’m not going to end up with that 50 so you have to factor in costs ie Tax expenses etc,I put £110 in my van for fuel on a Monday before I’ve put the kettle on you have to include it all in you’re prices.
If week after week all what you earn is gone and the clutch goes who’s paying for it,not the customers you have you have to earn over and above what it costs you to live or you may as well work for someone else.
-

£110 for fuel but only driving a couple of mins between jobs?
that doesnt add up
I only use £30 a week on fuel.
£40 max.
tax and expenses are no where near 50%
-
No it doesn’t add up it was an example you need to add whatever percentage you feel you need,I do a fair few miles to work and between jobs.
-
No it doesn’t add up it was an example you need to add whatever percentage you feel you need
So your example was completely pointless then?
I’m not surprised, your numbers rarely “add up”.

So if you clean 5 quid houses ask for 7 yeah 👍

I still stand by that price. My expenses are absolute max £3k a year that’s fuel filters new hose workwear tyres mot etc. Could prob throw a new pole into that as it’s probably nearer 2. How can you factor that your clutch may go and cost you a grand into a job? If your doing £50 an hour for example that’s 2 grand a week straight away at a normal working week

It doesn’t always work out like that though does it my point is you have to factor in expenses if earn just enough to pay bills you’re paying for the clutch not the business.

yeah those 12 year old V dub transporters are expensive to run ;D
