Recently had a lot of complaints about the noise. My machine has 2 exhausts coming out front... one is from engine and other from blower.
The noise comes from the blower exhaust.
I was thinking of taking it down through the floor and attaching a standard silencer on it.
Would this do the Job?

I'd talk to Craig Lincon at carpet cleaners world.
But, I run a 421, same two exhausts, so first is your machine louder than other truckmounts? Why are you getting complaints, are you running it early in the morning or running it at home and your neighbours complaining?
Mostly if I'm on a job and its within normal working hours I don't get any complaints, if I do I just say that I'll be a quick as I can, but I've got a job to do.

Try not to run b4 09.30am.
Tend not to run to much at home.
Just a few complaints when on jobs from customers neighbours.
I'm sure there must be a way of making this machine quieter.
It's allot louder than my previous truck mount.

Louder the better,
Attracts more interest , more potential custy,s , mine is pretty quiet to be fair but I do have a silencer from an aeroplane .

what machine is it

When i built my own truck mounts I used truck silencers mounted underneath the van, I bought silencers with 3inch inlet & outlets so there was no restriction to the airflow. You can get them with 90degree inlets that point up through the van floor and then easily connect to the truck mount exhaust with a bit of thick hose (not vacuum hose as it gets too hot and kinks if it has to bend)
If you buy a truck silencer ask for any discontinued ones that are collecting dust on the back shelves otherwise they can cost £200-£300.....old crappy ones they are happy to get rid of cheap
One small problem though..... they are not small they can look like half a torpedo BIG,!

Hi Shaun
Keep meaning to message you. Fancy meeting up? I'm in Sheffield a fair bit...

Exhaust through the floor and partially close the door.
My TM used to be fairly quiet until I needed a new radiator fan, they'd changed the angle of the radiator fan blades.
Most noise now comes from that.
