Which machine best to run 21" mosmatic
« on: July 16, 2014, 10:17:21 pm »
Hi we have always used 15 litre machines with honda gx 390 engines running 20" stainless steel whirlaway. It's been great but on some jobs we feel we need more pressure from the whirlaway.  We are thinking of getting the 21" mosmatic and getting a. 21 litre machine with same honda gx390 engine. But we noticed the pressure drops to 200 bar on a 21 litre pump. Would we be better sticking to 15 litre machine to run mosmatic or get the 21 litre model. We basically want more the flat surface cleaner to work better.  Also we have damaged numerous whirlaway spray arms hitting raised flags etc and wondered if the spray arm is even lower on the mosmatic?   Has the mosmatic got a different cleaning rotation than the whirlaway?  What set up would we be best with?

A diesel with at least 14 hp to run the pump at full chat and deliver the stated flow / pressure. My mossie has easily adjustable deck height but is heavy. Open your glass eye and try to miss the manhole covers  ;D If you go 21 you'll wonder how you managed before but get a 12mm t bar to change to smaller nozzles when the water is slow or the dirt comes off easily and you can walk faster - 25 degrees

I think also we will never look back. Some days we feel the 15 litres just isn't up to the job on some block paving and flags.  Does the Fsc perform well better at 21 litres? I want it to tear the floor off  ;D

If your running a mosmatic then I would suggest putting 2 x 03 nozzles in, we rip through weeds, however our pump is also 250 bar, the mosmatic is heavy but the extra 50 bar makes the diffenrence between pushing it and gliding it, also the new mosmatics now have 1/4 meg threads as opposed to the old 1/8 meg  ;D
Carl has made a good pont about changing the nozzles to suit the surface, I always intend on doing this someday but it slips my mind so I just walk slower with the 15 degree nozzles, great on block paving though but easy to 'ring'  on flags if you walk to quick.
the facts are here.... mosmatic, 21 lpm... keep some 25025 nozzles in the van for slower water and flags.... if water is slow on block paving then pull out the 045 turbo and crack on  ;D
So now you know the facts, get out there and get one bought, you'll never look back  ;D
also, don't bother buying a new machine, just buy a 21 lpm pump and stick it on your exisiting 13hp, unless you wanna shell out a buy diesel?
All in all your looking about a grand, you will have that back in a week.... what are you waiting for?  ;D

;D I have one with the old 1/8 thread too, the arms are starting to look like the rear leaf springs on my old transit now  ;D
