Which 21 lpm machine?

Hello Gents,

We have two Honda pressure washers at the moment for driveway cleaning. (3000/15lpm)

They have been very reliable but they lack power when using them with the larger fsc so I'm looking for a 21lpm machine. I want my Mosmatic to float
Have been looking at the diesel Lombardini to mount in the van and the 10hp Lombardini which is trolley mounted. Can't decide which one.

What machine did you step up too? Is it worth building a dedicated van set up?
Any advice most welcome.

I've got a 17hp Lombardini FOCS engine belt driven 21 lpm interpump 202. It's key start, radiator fan etc, just had all new wiring done and replaced injectors. All mounted on a frame ready to mount in van. Runs sweet and it's quiet.

I want £900 for it.

That will be a good machine from Lee!!

The cheapest way is to have a reverse Y splitter, running two machines into one outlet hose!

Hi chaps - looking at something similar but have been told that the 21 LPM machines are not suitable to off mains supply is this correct?

Darran,

21lpm machines are really only used sucking from a tank. Even 15lpm machines should be tank fed.

So being. Total novice here do you guys have a tank full of water and fill this off the mains as you work ?

So what's the most powerful that can be used on mains and are they any good?

I always use the customers wheelie bin.

Not very proffesional I know but I have got my eyes on a "Water Buddy" from Brendon Power Wash.

That is a 15ltr machine - look for a ws202 pump to be the 21 ltrs. 10hp is not powerful enough to run the ws202 pump, I have a lombardini LDW702 to run this. Always best to have a buffer tank which is bottom fed to the pump

I have exactly the same problem we also run two 15 LPM machines ones a GX 390 the others a lombardini. Both are struggling to run a 18 inch whirlaway efficiently, and I am reverting to the turbo lance all the time which is bloody frustrating. I also need something that can be wheeled on and off a trailer, so any other ideas would also be appreciated.

Great cleaning power. Really good for rinsing and using a FSC. Drinks a LOT of fuel on full revs but then again, you dont really need it on full revs all the time. Handy with twin outlets.

I have the same but diesel version, it only uses slightly more fuel than the Yanmar, cleaned 2 driveways today with it, 1 was around 150 m2, the other was approx. 180, also rinsed off and chased water around, used 1 full tank of fuel, run out right at the end. probably around £9, a small price to pay for the money it earned me today..

only downfall with it is that because it's a diesel it's pretty noisy.

When driving the larger FSCs 21" etc - Should I be looking at higher LPM, ie up to 30 at 200 bar, or higher bar with lower LPM, ie 21 LPM at 300 bar.
I understand the analogy of hitting a wall slowly with a elephant, however the wisdom of longer experience would be appreciated.

Anyways, aside from your little joke - why new? If you can buy a good set-up, maybe less than half the price for a better machine, why wouldn't you?

Not sure who the other poster was re: sucking from the mains, what's the point of having a 15 or 21lpm pump, sucking it heart out for 8lpm (or often less) from the tap. You need a tank, feed the tank all the time, then when you're not on your trigger, you'll be stockpiling

Business has been good this month so I have purchased my own wheelie bin..........Things are looking up.

True. Been using the Zeta again today mate, working perfect now after a little tweaking of the revs and unloader, no smoke, runs sweet. Currently got 2 x 1503 nozzles in, so working around 20lpm on the surface cleaner, lifts the mosmatic up of the ground slightly, may put 2 x .35 on when I get chance to order some, I don't feel that I would benefit from larger nozzles than that really as it cuts great and spins the bar a treat, so thinking that anymore flow would just be wasted and would have problems keeping up on domestic flows, unless someone can tell me different? what you using matt? Just going to get a .09 turbo and fan lance then that should do

a 65 is the right nozzle for 21 ltrs sp I run two 35's in my fsc. I only ever use a 55 turbo or fan in the lance.

On my van mount (21lpm) im using a 065 turbo and an 065 fan and 2 x 035 on the whirlaway.

on the zeta (30lpm) im using a 10 fan and an 09 turbo. I tried the whirlaway with the 2 x 035 on the zeta, it lifted it a little but cut the dirt nicely. I have bought some 045 nozzles to try in the whirlaway on the zeta, but like you say, i dont think you need much more than 20ish lpm going through the whirlaway. but ill give the 045s a go at some stage.

Continuing on a little - Rather than buy a new machine, it has been suggested that the way to go may be to upgrade the pump (WS202) and put a gearbox drive on my sigma Honda 390- this would then give me 21 LPM

Just been to Hugh crane who sell all sorts of cleaning gear they showed me a nil frisk alto 230 bar at the lance nozzle at 18 LPM Honda 390 with gearbox and auto idle control so saves fuel ( returns to idle when your not washing ) comes with 15 mtrs hose (2 wire) turbo nozzle years parts and labour £2300 all in

Looks nice but slightly over budget....

What you guys think
