OK, Every time this question comes up I give the same answer.  To the best of my knowledge NOBODY has ever followed my advice, despite its excellence on this topic.

You want these: http://www.engelbert-strauss.co.uk/Footwear/S3_Safety_Footwear/S3_Boots/S3_Safety_boots_Oberstdorf-1300370-93419-289-580.html

They'll last two years and will be waterproof for every single day of those two years.  They have a steel toecap and a steel midsole (for those fence panels your customers like to leave, nail upwards, in their side passage).  They are comfortable on the day you buy them and never stop being nice to wear.  They are toasty warm in winter and fine for summer.

Don't worry, I know you're not listening.  Even Dave W, who's posted above about how crap boots are, ignored this advice last time he asked the question, so I'm not expecting you to buy any.  More fool you.

its always the right foot that leeks first god knows why.
Do what Jimmy Cricket does with his wellies. Put an 'L' on the right one when it leaks and it'll think it's the left one and stay dry.

Same with me.  Are you left handed by any chance?  I am.  This means I tend to work with right foot forward more - which means more water can drop on it (I'm assuming that thecase anyway).

I have been using steel toed Caterpillar shoes (not boots) for the last few years when I was trad as I needed thick soles.  Carried on using them now I've been wfp the last 3 months and still dry - how do you all manage to get your feet wet? !!!  Or is it just when working in the rain?

The only problem I'm finding recently is the shoe is rubbing on the side of my left foot (I'm left handed) just by my little toe, very sore today  :(  so gonna need some new shoes/boots soon or I'll be out of plasters

Dr Martens life time guarantee. £130. Guarantee to replace them whenever they wear out. First pair have lasted almost 4 years so far. Simple really
