Leather cleaning the smart way
« on: December 24, 2007, 02:16:23 pm »
As its the end of the year  my New year res is to give 2 things back to the people in this business, my first is leather training which is  a massive growing market.

Im going to do 2 days next year i early Jan to share my leather techniques.
I have designed a way to clean pigmented leather very quickly, inculding really dirty creams as well as dye transfere. I will also be showing how to do minor repairs and dying quickly and cheaply including colour matching.
This is not like you get taught by the main guys but more like a street wise way of doing it with exceptional results.

The first one is filled by Shaun Ashmore, Dave Washbook and Geoff( Firbre fresh).

The second one I want 3 other people to teach. Please email me as there will be certain requirements ( oh and its free) it is for people who dont trade too close to me for obvious reasons and techs who have been doing leather for a year or 2 and want to develope it.

I hope I'm already booked in?

After going to Paul's last year you'll find a no nonsense approach with common sense, and it's 'microwave' learning so you'll get fastracked so you are knowledgeable (not an expert) in 1 day.

Jamie no I dont travel to or intend to market the Island. I dont concider you as competition, in fact when we meet you will find I have a few of your old customers ;)( local to me of course)

I learnt off Mike ,Haliday in 2003 to market in a 6 mile radius around you ( his words were you will benefit in 5 years from it) guss what he was right, glad I took his advice.

Jamie with the type of business you have and the offer you give, this is a must for you and should add 30% to your top line straight away.

Paul it was 3 miles ;) ;) although since moving it has gone up to 6miles

it has really struck home over the last week how important staying within a very local area has influenced my success, I might start a new topic about what I've experienced just lately

I would be interested in learning your leather cleaning technique.

Funny old world.................when I write about how quickly I clean suites, I get nothing but criticism, but then, I'm just a novice, compared to some of the vastly experienced and talented individuals on here.

I have deliberately avoided commenting on, how quickly leather suites can be cleaned and I mean cleaned, as such a comment, will guarantee a " You can't possibly get it clean in that time "

Having only been cleaning leather for around 20 years and having originally visited our local producer of high quality leathers, for advice, before starting, I suppose I still have a bit to learn.

Evening Paul

Been there a few times, over the years. I'm gradually backing out of the cleaning business, but must admit, to having a few ideas for the future, which might keep me around, that is, if my ticker keeps ticking and the limbs do as they're supposed to.

My mentoring post, was intended to alert you to the possibilities, which are creeping out of the woodwork these days, of smiling assassins.

Good luck with your endeavour to raise standards.
