My 16 year old son passed away yesterday morning!!

We watched last night and we saw our son Marcus Powell mentioned on sky sports news, He was a promising young football player with cheltenham town fc who passed away peacefully in the early hours of monday morning!!! But he always said he would get on sky sports! such a shame it was under these circumstances! He was a huge Arsenal fan, who lived and breathed football, he will be sadly missed but never forgotten!!!

people will probably ask me why post this on here? I spend alot of my free time on here and other boards, i know there are a few of my friends from here that have sent me msg's on facebook and by text! So i wanted to come on here and thank everyone that as sent there thanks!

Noticing the 'banter' you had with Marcus on FB during the time we've been friends it was obvious that you had a great relationship and although tragically cut short it will be something that can be treasured for a lifetime.

No parent ever, ever thinks that their sons or daughters will pass away before they do. It must be an awful experience and I am so sorry for you and your family.

As a supporter of Newport County I will expect the shock and loss to go out far and wide across the football community too.
No written words can ever make your loss easier, but take some strength from the fact there are many out there who are thinking of you and your family.
