cleaning block paving

when cleaning block paving how much muck should I blast out between the pavers?
Should I be blasting as much as I can away or just down 15 or 20 mm?

20mm will be fine….Forget the mono rotary stick with the flat surface cleaner.

Kevin I'm still to see a video anywhere off anyone of a drive being cleaned with a rotary. I should really try on mine and see. What brush would you recommend, I can do a comparison.

Kev 17 inch Victor weighted if needed. Tynex, monster, soft, medium brush.

Comparison on my mono block drive, half that way, half with my FSC 21 lt 250 bar p/w.

I know which will be quicker and easier and give a better finish. The thought of having to wet vac and rotary a drive makes me want to cry though.

I am sorry you feel like that but you have the freedom of speech to say what you want!

However, when we were pressure washing on a regular basis using Falch 300 Bar F2's and T3's (machines using more power, heat and flow rate that few have experienced) we trialled a rotary cleaner against these pressure washers which were fitted with Mosmatic FSC's with Vacuum Take Off and the Mono Rotary did a better job!  "That is a fact"

I am not a great one on making videos or publishing pictures in fact,  I have never published any pictures of our work on this forum.  So essentially your thoughts and opinions are just that!  Whether you believe me or not does not make one jot of difference to me either way.  That said,  we do not currently have a decent pressure washer or an FSC to make a comparison and produce a video.  I am in the process of purchasing one from Ben and once I have it I will make every endeavour to make a video of the process.  However, if you think about it carefully how can something that is relying on pressure and heat do a better job than something that is mechanically cleaning?  Does a wfp do a better job than a trad WC?  Can a gutter vac do a better job than a man up close doing it mechanically?  Can you clean a conny roof better with a WFP or soft scrub?  Can a drive in car wash clean a car better than I can do it by hand?  It really is just common sense at the end of the day.  You also need to be aware that at no point have I said it is quicker all I said is it does a better job and it is a lot less mess and no clean up!

I think you are talking out of your ring . When "I " clean block I make sure we take out at least 20 mm of sand and replace with Virgin sand. This is necessary when sealing (you cannot seal dirt ) and a matter of "principle" when "just cleaning". No brush hair/bristle/fibre will "reach" down into the gap between  herringbone or interlock  pavoirs.

Can you not just make a video of cleaning block paving with a mono rotary.  Im sure we can all imagine how to clean with a pressure washer from experience.
