5 years ago I did a sponsored bike ride across India in aid of a cancer charity. Back then I raffled a 25’ SLX pole on CIU to help raise funds for the charity by selling tickets for £10.00 a pop. Each ticket bought you one entry into the raffle, giving you a chance to win a the main prize. The more tickets you bought the more entries you had in the raffle.
So, later this year I'm doing another sponsored bike ride in aid of the mental health charity M.I.N.D. On this occasion I'm cycling from London to Amsterdam.
Again, I am raffling a brand new, unused, 25’ SLX pole with a brush of your choice, on CIU in an effort to reach the target I hope to raise. I'm hoping to raise £2,000.
If you buy 1 ticket you get one entry, if you buy 3 tickets you get three chances at winning. 5 tickets gets you 5 chances. You can buy them singly or in batches, for every £10 you get one entry.
All you have to do is visit this page
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Matt-Bateman-London-Amsterdan (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Matt-Bateman-London-Amsterdan)
make your donation in accordance with the number of entries you wish to have (£10.00 or £20.00 or £30.00 or whatever you wish) and leave a message with the words Clean It Up in it including your e-mail address.
This must happen as this will allow donations for the raffle to be identified. The winner will be informed via e-mail. If you don’t put your email address in the message we cannot contact you.
Thanks for reading and good luck everyone.
Could a mod make this post a sticky at all please?

Are you cycling the North Sea ???
-
Well done Slacky.....
you are one busy man!
-
I keep meaning to forward those pics Rob of that tank.
-
Well done mate.
Guessing the ride across India is much longer.
Most of this ride is on a ferry
-
Thanks. India was easy actually, great fun too.
-
No rush Matt, when you are ready.
Could be over your way in May so will pop in if you are around.
Bump 😊
-
Sounds good.
-
Doesn't recognise my email and I don't do Facebook. Can I post you a tenner?
Mind how you go.
-
Its in the raffle Og, thanks for your donation.
-
I hope CIU members are giving you lots of support.
Come on guys.
-
Nice one Rob, thanks.
Perhaps a mod might like to make this a sticky as it's being done in aid of a charity.
-
As its Easter, how about trying to win an SLX 25’ pole for a tenner. Pop over here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Matt-Bateman-London-Amsterdan (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Matt-Bateman-London-Amsterdan) and give it a go. You might be glad you did. ;)

Done.
All the best.
-

Well at least this is one thread which people cant moan about, especially all the moaning people out there who choose just to read and not contribute for whatever ridiculous reason. At least this gives an opportunity for them and us to read and respond too. Especially all the ones who highlight how much good money they make, surely could spare a tenner for a good cause.
For any critics, yes ive contributed and thats with all the mouths i have to feed as well 😉😉
-
Lets hope so ;D
A new SLX being the reward. Thanks Nathan.
-
I think there’s a need for this post to be bumped, only half a handful of raffle tickets sold so far fellas.

Just makes you realize that either the £30:00 an hour brigade don't exist or they are just very tight 😊
Hope you get a lot more sponsorship Matt.

Does anybody still only earn £30 an hour? :o

It might be a reflection of your constant boasting of how much you earn, charge, how great you are etc. Why don't you ask Steve "easy 100k per van" 8 weekly above to dip his hand in his pocket? He's usually more than willing to talk money and lick your boots.
Most people sponser and give to charity- fortunately we have the choice of "who" to sponser and give to! ::)roll
-
You might be right Peavey. But I suspect that says more about you than the point you’re trying to make.
-
Thankyou admin for making this a 'sticky'.
-
Hope you had all the children you want ;D

Why are you so embittered?
-
He's failed to see the irony in the bitter mental twists his posts display and the fact the charity I'm doing this for is M.I.N.D.
-
We really do need a "yawn" emoji on here!
-
Did anyone win this?
-
The draw hasn't taken place yet. I'll do it after I have done the ride.
-
I'll sponsor you if you do a proper challenge.
Sitting on your arse isn't really a proper challenge. :'(
-
You're alright, not to worry.
Its not really a challenge, you're right. But it is an opportunity to donate to a worthy cause and try to help those who might struggle dealing with life. Maybe you don't need a reason or encouragement to donate, but Ive raised a good amount of money on this occasion and in the past. I've always found them worthwhile events.

I don't donate through Just Giving anymore:

If you were really bothered about how much the charity actually receives, rather than letting Just Giving cream a slice off, you might be interested in this:

I would guess it was more of a popularity test which backfired spectacularly! ;D

I've let him know about Just Giving before, but he didn't change it.
There are better methods than 'Just Giving', which is a for-profit business and they take a too-large-a-slice of the cake for their own ends.
And he could still do his popularity contest regardless.
