Kevin

The store in question on the Linkedin message

I've been cleaning the 'sails' but the issues are as discussed.

Possibly just as quick to get you on here as on Linkedin.

Won't you see him at the lodge sooner  ::)roll Are they secret problems with the sails or would you accept suggestions from someone who has cleaned these type of sails previously and has owned a bouncy castle company

I would Carl but the sails aren't the issue and i've taken advice from Kevin & Richard Turk, have samples on the way to the store and will update the post with the results of tests later on in the week.

I needed chemical samples to be out and in the post today or I would have opened it up. The samples are in the post thanks to both companies.

The sails have only been pressure washed, the client has never allowed high level chemical usage - which would have given a much better result on the material, which is bouncy castle material.

There were and are parked cars overnight on the RH side. Drift was/is an issue with application and rinsing off so limited end result, which they are aware of and what they have got.

How did you clean the bouncy castles? This isn't a smart Alec question we used to hire and make them and we had a way just wondered what you did?

For general marks baby wipes are best. Silly string is removed with acetone. If the castle is really dirty or has been put away wet then snow foam is good.  Art work is acrylic paint. I used to inflate the castles and crawl insides through the deflation zip to dry the insides. All our castles came from  http://www.bouncenow.co.uk/

And we had a few !

Oh no not the silly string we hated that!!! We often used Ariel mixed with water as well!! If the castle got wet and you got that foisty smell shake and vac done the blower tube worked well. We had 40 at one point getting those in and out on a Saturday and Sunday was a fair job( this was the mid 90s). I remember the name bouncenow, never had dealings with them. We knew Glenn at BeeTee well, Gaz, The Walkden brothers Inflatable World and Mary from Bounceabouts.

Kev

I wasn't going to say anything about this.

I certainly don't blame you.

Parcelforce rang me yesterday morning, as you know I'd been on nights, had about 4 hours sleep. I told them I would get to the store so we wouldn't have the delivery rejected again, was there for 09.30 and just sat waiting, she had said mid morning.

At 4pm I'd had enough, did the sample with Tensid's Cladex AC, wiped on with a cloth and rinsed off, it came up really well.

I left the store to go and do another last minute job in Bristol at 17.30 - still no delivery.

I am obviously annoyed, I know you had got the samples out in good time, I wouldn't have expected anything less but at my end I had Sainsbury's decision makers waiting for the test areas and I could only give them one area.

Anyone who wants to chime in with a comment of 'should have ordered sooner' doesn't know the environment, these were down to be washed off and spray painted but that got cancelled the day before.

When I go back to the store next week the decision will have already been made, expecting the costs to go in today and confirmation by Tuesday next week so out of time on the products supplied by yourself

I'm at the store doing the initial clean off across the cladding, two/three days, there are parts you cannot see and then back to the beginning with either a cloth on or low pressure spray application of the SS cleaner and rinse off.

I'm certainly not going to fall out with you about it, least of all publicly but your courier service let you down, I don't think they even attempted the delivery the previous day because when I asked no deliveries had been rejected at customer services.

The excuse that he didn't deliver because it didn't say Sainsbury's supermarket on the parcel goes against trying to deliver it and it being rejected - laughable and I would be changing service providers if I had unhappy customers and they were costing me sales.

Scott -

Rearrange - kricp!!

I get your point but sadly our couriers deliver 99% of all parcels correctly and promptly and that's not bad considering we send out on average around 425 parcels a week with them.  In the great scheme of things there are around 3-4 mistakes/breakages/non deliveries per week but I can't find anyone better.  It is always important ones that go wrong but that is Sods Law and I like every other company in the U.K. have to live with it.

My website is only one of many ways I get work and from that is only a very small % of new works and new clients.

Being able to convert sales from existing clients is the mainstay of the business.

I'm working on something at the moment that is back to paper, printing & good old Royal mail (if it gets there)

I've just, this afternoon, got the go ahead on works at one of the largest B & Q's in the country, starting  the week after next and lasting for 3 weeks that will take me nicely to my winter holiday in the sun.

I like a fresh view on the website, Simon Evans has pointed out some of the immediate problems that have been ignored because of work commitments.

Can you list the errors without being an idiot ?

I know there is a picture missing and it isn't optimised for mobile viewing.

I use Linkedin now, I posted on there the other day. When I had the website built I didn't see the value of linking it, I don't use Facebook and probably never will.

Linkedin is more professional and I have connected with a client on there this afternoon.

When I do a new blog on there I can see from WP analytics the quality and what you say about the word count always comes up but I like to keep the blogs visual rather than explanatory, hopefully the photos do the work there.

For anyone reading this - get a blog on your website and have administrative access to use it - shows how current you are.

I am going to have it mobile friendly and will get the rest looked at.

Added after your last post.

I can do a lot on the website but there are things that I am happy to pay for.
