I have just orderd a Emporium ultra-lite  46ft in reach pole.Due to not being able to get another type in time !
So i gave them a call and they where very helpfull .
The pole wieghts 1.5kgs @ £555.00 including vat and p&p ,which i thought was very good price. You can also buy add on sections to get extra lenght,if need.

i guess he means gardiners.  Before you use the pole for the first time put some electrical tape on each section to stop the poles compacting too much when in use!!!!!By this i mean put each pole together just enough for the joint to be rigid enough but not too far ,at this point ,on the male part put a few layers of tape to stop the female part from going too far as i have already mentioned.

Personally, if the SL2 was out of stock and I needed one now,.. I'd buy an F16. Half the price, just as light, and judging by the reports so far, just as strong (Though still not very) as the emporium pole.

this is very good advice wightsurf, definately do it, wish I had to begin with.
Also, be very careful lifting it from horizontal, I would'nt suggest doing this with any more than 3 sections if you can help it, build it up against a wall whenever possible. I should know mines broken on section 5 twice. Not trying to put you off, its a super lightweight pole but in my experience damages and gets chipped far too easily, look after it right from the beginning and maybe it will last longer than mine did.

Even if you had spent half of the money you posted above it would still be a massive amount for that pole,i snapped 3 sections just getting it upright and lowering it,it`s simply not strong enough for WC mine didn`t last 5 mins and i had to get extra sections.I have an SL2 and it is a totally different product in every way thinkable.

Alex said it was still available (SL2), but wasn;t advertised on the web page until "stocks" are in, which can be sold en mass.

Hi all thanks for the reply,,,no not sick and yes i did phone the other supplier..The pole is not ready from the other supplier and i have a very large job to do and needs a pole to do it.
The pole i'm getting has a roller on the back of the brush so that it can roll up the side of the building, and also did think about the fishing pole but did'nt go with that option!
Whilst looking at the DIY site i think i read jeffs review on this pole and am i right in thinking that this pole has had a slight change from the earlyer ones,
Have a look at there site see what you think!

The top 5 sections have been completely re-worked to the 88ft standard.

The SL2 is good for lifting 6 assembled sections straight from the ground, straight onto the glass without the need to assemble it from a lower height using the walls/windows section by section. It's a good pole for high work except on days when it's windy (the erratic gusty type of days that are unpredictable).

Can you buy the rollers to fit on the brush separately and if so where from please? Similar to the the roller used on the Bentley brush.

Its nearly 4 years since I went round shopping for fishing poles and yes some have thicker wall sections, after many months I picked the f16 because you could get extension sections as you can now with other makes like the Garbollino. Its (f16) a good compromise between strength and lightness for only £250 and I had it to 80ft . There may by now be better poles out there like the Maver, Daiwa, Browning. Some of the earlier models were thicker and ideal for use up to 40ft.
They all cross match somehwere along the length and for instance the Garbollino extensions fit into one model of the Shimmano.
Used gently and they last, I still use my f16 after 3 1/2 years over the emporium because the joints are smooth running .
through your hands.
Tape the joints to stop ccompression and strengthen the poles. ps I have made another discovery about c/f pole wear but more on that later.
ps they will still go up in price as the air industry is making blooming wings out of c/f.

No i didn`t i had 3 sections that had extra wrap on them,if what your saying is true i was sold a prototype pole which IMO is out of order.

Push the two sections together and start to wrap tape round where they meet so that you build up a few turns of tape which will then act as a "stop"to prevent the top pole compressing down any further over the bottom pole. If your fishing pole doesnt have a butt protector(the emporium does) do the same with the base to allow a small overlap which helps stop the wear form when you put the pole down on the ground. Also adds strength to the base.

Someone has to be first, I am still using my "first" emporium. I have paid extra to keep it up to date. I thought the extra wrap didnt come out till later ? Maybe I am mixed up a bit when did you buy yours ? what did you do with it ?

Emporium are also fishing suppliers the rolers are derived from "pole rollers " and are I think unique to them. I prefer no roller and  I just hold mine straight up in one hand till I get to 35-45ft then lean the back of the brush against the wall to go higher. But the roller is  of help when going to the limits.

Weight or lack of it. I am now using c/f modular for low level everyday work, ok its not quite as fast to put up (but its faster to take down)as a telescopic but oh boy its a pleasure to use. Light poles, light brushes, light everything.
Mind you I suppose I got used to not using rollers so maybe you will get used to not using anything other than a roller. If you dont like rollers just put any old Bentley flocked brush on instead.
I find it interesting that Matt has made his Vikan cill brush really light as has riahehttrepur (you got to change that name again  ;) its a sxd difficult to to spell backwards)

Matts topic on diy site is http ://d.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6865 but this forum wont let me post it  :o , so look on page 2 topics to for "I got my vikan down to 275gms" by Matt as far as I know hes the only one to do it with the Vikan. Maybe we should have competittions to see who can shave the most weight off. I drilled holes in mine between the bristles.
Dump the Bentley and lighten the Salmon, but the emporium is sold with Vikans so presumably it will take the weight.
.
.
.

( But they have a new shorter No1 section pole to take the weight)

Just been looking at the vikan, Thanks for pushing it to the top.

ive tried loads of brushes and i honeslty think nothing comes to close to the Vikan, its a bit heavy, but trim it down a bit and its great

the lightness of the bentley and the useablity of the Vikan
