Obscenly expensive but many people who have it say its brilliant.

I can't justify the £2500 Varitech price tag, and thats very cheap compared to Ionics.

Cant beat hot, but i am going to say that as i have two. Shop around, most companies are doing hot systems. Have a word with Sam or Denis at waterfed pole systems in Grantham, had my recent hot system fitted by them.

I've a diy hot system,... its the difference between a Brodex 60' monster and a brand new SL2 IMO. There is simply no comparison,.. I'd never go back to cold.

It cost me about £250 all in for the heater, the pipe, regulator, gas bottle, roof vents & fittings,...

i think you could definately make yourself a good living installing these as a sideline as even with a good profit margin you would be a lot cheaper than all the other competition and from your previous post the system sounds very good.

I'm sure some cowboy is probably already doing that! But to do it properly I'd need a lot of legal documentation, product indemnity insurance, and to be honest a level of expertise which (for now) is beyond me.

I think its a great idea, but I can understand why the suppliers prices are as high as they are!

The on demand system is very good. But installing them is not possible as he would have to be corgi registered.

The complexity is about the same as setting up a barbecue. You buy a heater, then you put it in the back of your van.

Just read Nathans post. The suppliers don't offer this system for these reasons, but not only is it the best, it's also much cheaper to run.

I'm told some of the diesel systems cost £5 a day or so to run,... I'm paying at most a quarter of that on a really long busy day!

For a full set up, or for an add on to your existing system?

So come on then people,

What are the huge advantages of having a hot water system over cold, obviously one springs to mind if you live in the north pole.

What do you clean (or what does the missus use) to clean the dishes? the family car? etc?

Hot water!

We all know Hot water is better at cleaning than cold water will ever be.

And yes, it will keep your hands warm in the winter, and also your van :P

Put a heater in the van overnight on frost protection and through the day keep your pump on trickle recycled back into your tank. Very easy to setup with a couple of relays for £3.50, you dont need hot water in this country, you have just fell into the trap of the likes of ionics saying you do.

Ionics all glitz and glam make a fortune from this clever marketing tactic.
