Sole trader pole set up
« on: September 18, 2012, 08:40:13 am »
so for all you one man bands out there what poles you got?

heres mine

22ft CLX

25ft SLX

40ft SUPERMAX

25ft BRODEX HYDRA

30ft UNGER TELEPLUS TRAD POLE

small unger optiloc converted into a WFP for cleaning the van

my main pole is the 25ft SLX with a choice of 3 carbon goosenecks with an extreme brush/soft sill/med sill respectively.excellent all arounder.

22ft CLX with aqua-daptor gets used  for some work(like today)and the 40ft supermax gets used on some commercial and big domestic and any solar panel cleaning.

i cant see me using the hydra ever again!and the teleplus gets used occasionally albeit as an 18ft trad pole!

so what poles have you guys got??i reckon ive got most bases covered for my work anyway! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

I would be a bit careful about listing what expensive equipment you have on a public forum.

My poles are years old and knackered cause I'm too tight to buy new ones.  ;)

Grow up knd. Just because you cant afford them yet doesnt mean everyone should keep quiet so not to upset you !

Ive worked damm hard for what ive got. I still have the original diy system i first started out with and not a crash tested one.

Dazmond has probably worked harder than me (hes older and been cleaning longer), so shut the jealous cake hole of yours and be quiet

How was that out of order  ?

The guy made out i was bragging when i was simply answering a question. If someone asked what controller you used, he wouldnt say a thing. When i first started i didnt have a controller... I couldnt afford one. But i didnt cry because other people did.

slx and supermax.

I don't reckon Dazmond was bragging.
I read it as though he was asking what other people use to get a general idea of people's preference.
Who knows it might help someone starting wfp to decide which pole they want to buy?

Dazmond wasn't bragging. He's just a pole freak!  ;D

Dazmond is single and doesn't drink and probably debt free. Personally, I couldn't justify atm an SLX, but I am not jealous of Dazmond or anyone else that has them.

nowt like bragging some window cleaners on here can't afford fancy poles so I think you should keep what you have to yourself . can't do wi bragging how much you earn , what poles you got what set up you got . good on you if you can afford all that gear mate but some people can't afford it

Pathetic post,Daz started a post and clearly placed the post title, its not compulsary,so if you don't want to read or reply you don't have to.

Snap.
I also have a clx that I use for upvc cleaning work. I had it gold plated as I've found over the last 50 years of wfp it slows down the wear, but hey don't tell anyone.

fair play  daz has done well for a northener......over the last few years he has annoyed me with a lot of hes posts as seem the same old same old all the time but to be fair he is proud of himself he has done good and got to where he wants to be in the window cleaning world..just wish he would stop going on about he's sports car(poxy ford couger lol) but i imagine in 2 years down the line he will update that to a porche without doubt. Lot of jealous people out there. Me being 1 of them. Cant wait to get to where i want to be and when im there ill too think im the beez nees.

25 slx with pure freedom been in job nearly 30 yrs. I know what its like to be on the recieving end off a jealous person lived over rd from one for sixteen years had to move because he was attacking my home because off my job didnt like it because i was successful at  my job. Thats the only reason i spoke out  ???

You spoke out because you are successful at your job?
What reason then do you give for trying to spoil someones for sale item . the guy asks me if it is still for sale and I reply in the positive. It is in fact sat next to my 25 slx , my ionics pro5 etc.. They all have their positives and negatives, the brodex has its robustness but is heavy. The guy asking the question can make his own mind up. i really hate idiots like you coming on a forum like this and chipping in with your unhelpful comments. Just leave well alone and keep your nose out. You may have an opinion on brodex poles but opinions are like bumholes - everyone has one , except you seem to have two!!

griffin your are star!!funniest guy on here by a mile!! ;) :) :)

actually the play is a 17th century play that was banned for 200 years."the country wife" its called.its about a philanderer who feigns impotence to charm his way into womens knickers!!and the wrath of his wife when she finds out what he s been up to!! ;D ;D ;D

mick dont underestimate the ford cougar!!its a fantastic car!the heated leather seats work as well!ive never enjoyed driving a car as much as this one!!the v6 engine is a beast! ;) :D :D :D

back to poles!i use all mine bar the hydra.in fact ill be using the optiloc pole to clean my van and car this morning! ;D ;D

in hindsight i wasted my money on the hydra and the 20ft streamline fibre glass jobbie i started with.they are both awful poles.far too heavy.the clamps on the hydra are crap and the fibre glass pole was VERY bendy!!

25 foot slx cant recomend it enof! every day pole
31 foot extel (for the odd window thats very high only using it about 5x a month prob less but its handy)

was gona replace the extel for a 35 foot slx or 40 foter smax but i just have no need for it not chasing commercial and i couldnt justify the extra cost at the mo!

25ft slx everyday
35ft slx comes out only when 25 wont reach which isnt that often.
Clx 22 for conservatories and fascias with sill brush
An old xtel 30 hardly ever use should come out van really
Then some short poles for bungalows etc

Really all i need are the 1st 2 but the others are all older poles

Best wishes cliff
