Pizza Hut ( Ask Raj Bhania ) Why?
« on: January 28, 2012, 05:20:32 pm »
Got letter from Raj Bhania (Procurement Manager) termination of pizza hut contract.

Will be asking him a few questions in a letter + email, why dont all on forum do the same.

Going to ask
Will the new national be subbing the work out? we will report this to him if this is the case.

Why not local suppliers for best green footprint + sustainablity promised on the corperate mission statement?

Ask him to pick any forum member to run national contract to a budget agreed, one invoice, then run through forum members + local suppliers, easy.

Lets inform him that window cleaning is a sector that does have professional networking and when this national fad falls out of favour then there are other better options.

I will let you Know what his response is, please write to him likewise.

Why not suggest / ask them to tender to  J V Price"s New online Nationwide Window Cleaning site   http://www.nationwidewindowcleaners.co.uk/

Tender all locations as postcodes

Regionally

Monthly total and Charlie agrees one invoice which could include a small handling fee %

This would allow all window cleaning direct and cut out three of four of the normal sub contractors
 ;)

It would also cut out the window cleaners that have just lost these contracts, surely if they are writing to the procurement manager the last thing they are gonna do is recommend another company ??? ???
Does JV Price have a stall at Windex by any chance :P

are you lot for real, do you think whoever has won the contract doesn't have signed contract in place for a set time frame, and when that time is up it will go to tender as is right and fair, a few letters for a forum will not make the blind bit of difference

send it to watch dog, if they went direct to the window cleaner they could get the windows done at £4 a pop and could then lower the price of a pizza, win win if you like pizza

Depends on how many post codes you have
How many PH in those areas
Also if it works other nationals can follow

or stick with what you have

National contract then sub it out three or four times and end up cleaning for £5

when i was informed i lost pizza hut i rang the manager and he told me that that the national that won the contract are doing the huts for pennies because they are making big bucks on the windows above the restaurants. however the one i clean is free standing with no windows above like a lot over the nation. i think the managers will kick off when there huts havent been cleaned properly and they could find themselvs out of favour and possibly breach of contract which in turn could open the door to the guys who have been doing them for years. so keep your eyes on them . saying that i could be wrong . chances are a local subby will be offered them to clean anyhow . interesting to see what happens and i hope guys around the forum tell us when they are being approached i know if i am i want 50 per cent more to do them.if thats too much then i wont be doing them . when 1 door shuts another opens

Do I have to pay Charlie £250 before I get the privilege

Charlie can you advise David

Dave,  I may be missing the point of the whole nationwide thing

Correct me if I am wrong

The concept is that a contractor could acquire regional postcodes
That operator then secures the right to receive any work in that area
So if this can encourage national retail outlets to place its business with Nationwide this could be distributed to a group of reliable local contractors.

What I have suggested to Charlie

To win multiple National retail
Contracts need to be procured with a single point of contact at Nationwide
(help desk)
Information past to regional contact
Individual contractors price local outlets
Collective contract value
Nationwide invoicing
Handling fee %
Individual companies invoice Nationwide
Nationwide satisfaction certificate on completion

Postcode contractors would benefit from a standard delivery profile
Compliance with health and safety and employment law
Registered with Inland Revenue
Trained and competent
Code of practice to be written and strictly applied
Quality equipment in good working order
Strictly no sub contracting

Collectively, promote, PR, Market success and encourage all others to follow suit

Stop recent cases

Greggs,
Boston Lincolnshire, local previous window cleaner
Direct two cleans per week  £80 per week
= £40 per clean takes 1 hour to clean each time

National picks it up and then sub contracted various times
Latest price someone trying to get a clean it up window cleaner to pick it up for £4.50

Time for change Dave

it must be a very big greggs or very slow window cleaner, and at £40 per hour no wonder they are going national

to join Nationwide, doesn't it cost £50 month ?

Correct me if I am wrong, nothing wrong with that.

But if that is the criteria to gain the national work, then isn't that just as bad ?

on another note, do you know how much work would be involved allocating 2000 shops to 2000 different window cleaners

Chaos pure Chaos and that would be just one chain

imagine running 20 chains, i can just imagine the helpdesk calls now

Good luck

These chains go to a national company because they take over the whole property management, the cleaning, cleaning products, washroom supplies, it's just easier for them to deal with one company I guess. I've worked for a company, I was cleaning 2 chains of bookies, and covered east/north London postcodes, my round was piece of p, get it done in 2 days

Andrew

This is the plan for Nationwide Window Cleaners but we need the teams in place before we can tender for the works, I feel we could win every chain on the high street as every store manager i have ever spoken to has said i wish i could have the local guy back.......

J.V. Price has 4 national chains as it is, that we sub out and over the last year we have been asked to tender for (you ready for it) 12 others and we have walked away due to prices.

3 of these have since come back to us as windows on stores all over the place are not being cleaned as the local guy that did them for £10 a week does not want to do them for £5

If we could get the network together (THAT EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT ON HERE EVERY TIME ANOTHER CHAIN GOES NATIONAL>>>>> AND THEY ALL WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!) we would be able to approach retail window cleaning in a different way....

NWC would be making money from the subscriptions so would only need to take a 5-10% handling fee for the invoicing and help desk service instead of the companies that now tend to take 50% on each clean.......

This would just be one part of the Network, we could also look at our own federation, group buys on everything we need, training programs, H&S and HR advice line this list can go on and on.......

But best of all the yearly window cleaners p up and BBQ at Andrew Willis house....

Andrew glad you see the vision and the potential

The process has started lets just hope we can get there.

Andrew

It will all be down to money, always is. An accountant somewhere will have saved them a few pounds and the head offices bods wont care less how well or badly the windows will now be getting cleaned. Its all abot the numbers on the end of a balance sheet
