I've always charged standard price but thinking about changing. I've had my quote sheets altered but the box for the first clean is blank so I can put whatever in there depending on the job.
-
Always charge double! As we all know 1st cleans can take twice or even 3 times as long!
Also seems to stops the 1 clean wonder brigade but if they do cancel after the 1st clean it don’t feel as bad because we charged double.

That was pretty much my thinking.
We did have a clause that if someone cancelled after the first clean we charged them 3x but it was rarely enforced.
-
I ticked the wrong box like Djokovic's agent.
I almost always charge about 50% extra unless it's a minger where I charge depending how bad it is.
-
I charge 50% more on first cleans
they eat up time and water
-
Depends on the job...if its a well priced stand alone over £40 then no not usually unless its really bad.I take the hit...
If its a lower priced 4 weekly job I can charge up to 100% more if its filthy, usually I add a bit more even if the windows are fairly clean....
-
30-50% depending. Tried charging double bit didn’t get many as there’s a lot of competition around here
-
I charge enough for the rest of the year to accommodate the extra time required for first clean.
-
Unless its really minging, no extra on price but these days I have found my pricing takes care of the extra work for the first clean.
-
Usually 50% extra an 8 wky price which = approx double to a 4 wky clean price
However,
I do this for those that come to me, I rarely charge more if I canvass unless it is in a bad way
( don't ask me why, just don't )

I charge a bit more on first cleans between 25%-50% on top of the normal price
-
I just charge normal price and take the gamble.
But i dont spend anywhere near as long as i used to on a first clean.
-
Generally, I charge more for a first clean, especially if they are filthy, or I think the customer is a 'one off' merchant.
Last year I did a couple of cleans for 'little ole dears' and I didn't charge any extra (well it didn't seem right, poor ole girls).
Both of them had me, both one off merchants! ;D
-
An extra 50% on every first clean. To be honest, if we didn’t, in the summer we’d take a big hit on daily takings. Some days literally every job might be a first clean.
-
For the 24.5% of you that don't charge extra - we have experienced very little drop in uptake of our services over the last month, less than 10%
-
Did a first clean a couple of weeks ago.
Normal clean in and out would have been 5 1/2 hrs.
Took me 8 hrs....
Quoted for a days work and glad I did.
I lways charge more for first cleans regardless.
-
I don’t normally on £40 council houses.

£40.00 ???. You definitely need to raise your prices! ;D

Nutter near me does first cleans for free and has a massive ‘FREE FIRST CLEAN OFFER’ decals on the bonnet of his van.

You should get him to do yours.

Tbh I’ve never really gone overboard on the first clean I just look at what it’s gonna be worth to me long term, why lose it on the first clean when it might be worth 1500-2000 a year to you I’ve got many like that I do that needed a first clean and took a bit more time but long term are brilliant earners.
You can smell and time waster when you’ve been in this job for a while,I can’t see the point in ever charging double unless it’s a concrete sellotape or cement job,if it’s just a case that they haven’t had a window cleaner for years the old hot water gets em back clean.
-
Just explain. Set out your stall.
'The first clean will be rather more as it will take longer to bring up to scratch than subsequent ones.'
If they quibble then are they the sort of customer you want?
-
If it was a recommendation from an existing I wouldn’t ever go silly with first clean prices, the chances are in my experience they will keep it regular it’s the people that just contact you from a website or Facebook you have to be worried about letting you down.

From what you say, you go silly prices with regular cleans😁
-
That’s what I mean if it’s going to be a good earner after the first 1 why bother maybe losing it being silly at the start,if they are dirty just because they haven’t had a clean in a while it’s no biggy.
Of course if it’s a piddly job that might usually take 10 minutes to clean but the first one might take 30 minutes to an hour fair enough.

Do you still clean conservatory roofs for free? ;D
-
we add 50% extra for firsts
used to charge double for years, but am growing at the moment and wanted to get more customers quicker so dropped it back a bit
-
The odd one gets done for free Richard minimum wage of course and the odd bonus taking me up to an average wage at the end of it 🤣🤣🤣

Interesting to see that. Were they all 100% extra for example on the first clean or did you vary it on a case-by-case basis?

All double.
