'Steam cleaning'
« on: April 10, 2005, 07:29:00 pm »
Reading a debate further down prompts me to ask the question of how do you describe the rinsing process of your clean ie. steam cleaning or HWE or other?

Mainly asking the question for marketing purposes so i can describe the rinsing process to the customer as something other than steam cleaning which everyone else advertises.

thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

Either HWE or sometimes spray extraction.

To describe HWE as 'Steam Cleaning' is technicaly an offence under the Trades Descriptions Act, since any steam produced is incidental and does not play an active part of the cleaning process.

Mark,

I say' we use the Hot Water Extraction Method , sometimes called steam cleaning'.

John , considering the claims made by many manufacturers and suppliers which are optimistic to be kind , any Trade Description problems are highly unlikely ;)

Cheers,

Doug

I do tell people that "we use Hot Water Extraction, which is referred to as Steam Cleaning but does not involve steam"
Many items i have to deal with would probably dissolve if attacked with steam  :o
