For those who are interested i won't be posting a daily link to my blog on here as of now.

It is just taking up too much of my free time, of which I get very little in the week.

I would like to thank those of you who have commented positively, though I'm sure some of you will be glad to see the back of it!

I'll still be posting a blog on my website but it will a much shortened version for seo purposes.

I've added a link to my blog to my footprint so you can access it easily from there.

If you like my Facebook page, a link to my blog will show up each day on your Facebook.

It's something that gives narcissistic people the opportunity to self-promote themselves to an audience who quite frankly couldn't give a poop a hoot or care less.

In other words a blog is a tool whereby the audience (everyone else apart from the blog author) realise that ego-centrics are so self-absorbed they believe the rest of the world is equally focused on their universe. Which, fortunately we're not.

I often wonder for how long people can keep blogs up for.

Myself, I couldn't be bothered to even begin and it's an illusion that anyone else is interested to any extent either especially about window cleaning.

To me, blogging, it's like when you were a kid and having a new toy for Christmas. You think you'll play with it forever upon opening the wrapping but after a while it becomes like everything else that was once a cherished toy.

Sorry Dave, but I didn't read a word and while most of my customers appreciate their windows being cleaned, I don't think a blog from me would rank highly in their 'must look at' list of things when they go on the internet. In fact, I don't think they'd be interested enough to read one word.

'They' often quote on the media about how many times a famous person's blog is read but they never quote how many from that figure are new readers and how many have only read some of the blog once and how many no longer read the blog or for how long the average person reads a daily blog. I wonder why?

Commercially, their us is for SEO. It is keyword rich changing and unique content with targeted backlinks.

I get carried away with stuff tho and before I knew it I was spending an hour or more on it

Just a thought for you grumpy micky takers   ...lots of people missing the point here (imho). Under 25's in solitary occupations often suffer from anxiety and depression associated with feeling isolated in their work life.....example; suicide rates among young farmers are markedly higher than any other profession, window cleaning is similar in nature and hence carries the same risks for those starting out at a young age.

In my humble opinion a blog from a typical window cleaner is a great way for others in the same occupation to feel part of a group / not alone....someone sharing their mistakes is a great way of helping others....not working in the rain...trouble with kit and customers....helps people realise these problems are common to the industry rather than being elements of their own failing.

Some good points there. I never bothered reading the blog, but as for blogs and forums helping others know that a lot of situations in this game are common to all, that's true. A blog might interest some and not others. To me, it would be too much effort and I'd doubt whether anyone would be interested in it.

So I'm all for forums, but blogs are not for me.
