An informal, meeting of “Home Services Heroes (West Midlands)” is taking place at The Harborne Stores, at 7pm on Saturday 3rd February.

So; if you are a pillar of the water fed pole community, a guru of gutter clearing, handy with a hoe, a legend on a ladder or a dab hand at driveways then a warm welcome awaits.

If possible, please wear a jacket with your company logo on it.

Parking in St John’s Road (one block East) You can pay by card or take £1.20.

I've seen the pricing on your flyers. Do you get much custom?

I get by ;-)

I recently read the book "Business for Punks" by James Watt (he built craft brewery "Brewdog" from zero to 50 million turnover in 9 years and was consistently profitable throughout the growth curve).

When challenged on price he would say something like:

The price is the price. We don't move on price. The price you pay is what enables us to provide a quality product. You can buy our product and that's cool. You can not buy our product and that's cool too.
We won't compromise the quality of our product by moving our price point. The price is the price.

It was a  bullish stance to take. However, many of the people that walked away eventually came back through the door at some point in the future and worked with him and his team to put deals in place.

Jame Watt describes companies as being built on three pillars. Profit Margin, Quality of Service, and Company culture. Company culture is what happens when you and your staff think that no one is watching.

Neglect one of these pillars and your dreams will collapse like a house of cards.

Build these pillars strong; and it's pure plutonium.

Be great to meet you on Sat eve... I'm the small-framed geeky one with the weather-beaten face and the balding head.

With respect I won't be there.
You now have two threads on this theme and I still not sure what you want, are you trying to recruit?
If so, this is hardly the place imo.
Whatever it's about , best of luck with it.

Fair play to him if he can get the prices he advertises. Don't know how busy/much he's making, but some of my customers have shown me the flyer and are horrified at the prices. But like I say, fair play if he's getting the work. I'd love to know his spiel on how he sells himself.

Prices are nuts  ;D

I think its possible to get custys at those prices with a million leaflets banged out but growing a large business at those prices would take forever due to the conversion rate being something like 00000000.1%

I have trouble getting people to pay a tenner for a semi

Yeah but Adam - they pay £10/£12 once a month , what would you charge for a 12 weekly cycle?
