Van insurance renewal
« on: May 09, 2017, 05:52:11 pm »
Just wondered how much people are paying on here and who with,I've just had my renewal through and it's just a tad under 500 with vehicle replacement fitted with WFP. I'm after someone cheaper that insures WFP i.e. watertank fitted in vehicle etc,I'm currently with A-Plan and have been for years.

My new connect ltd

Is £218

I think I must be getting older that's why I got shot the VW it was £585 because it was a combi 5 seater

The connect saves so much in fuel as well

so your saying you have commercial van insurance, fully comp on a brand new van and your only paying just over £200 a year?

ive never paid any less than £350 a year(and that was a few years ago on an old van!).

i pay the full amount upfront as well(no installments).

I moved from A-Plan to Alexander Swan this year and saved about £100 with the same level of cover.

Go on the Go Compare website, it has an option for modifications ( water tank ) I got my insurance through this site from More Th>n Business. £265 fully comp, 9 years NCB, protected

You have to call them for a water tank fitted policy I thought or it's told me to on comparison sites in years gone by,there's not many that will cover you. I could have cut the cost in half if I'd said no water tank etc but in reality your not covered I think there's only a handful that'll cover us.

Just got mine 2 weeks ago on GoCompare from More than business , 2012 Fiat Fiorino  , fully comp , 9 years protected NCB , water tank written on policy , legal cover , and the missus on it too !  £304 on monthly payments , would have been £252 if i paid up front .
I used to pay just under £600 for my T4 combi , i got battered like Tony ,  enough was enough as it was going up £80 a time on renewal day .
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

Hi P & F
Best thing I ever did was get rid of the VW absolutely loved it but connect has almost 1000kg payload and cost £56 every other week in fuel not the £90 every week in VW

no more big vans for me again

I'm waiting until they do a non plug in hybrid connect and I'm straight out to buy one it won't be long I hope

Also the grippa tank fitted system lowered my insurance when I spoke to the under writers about it as they recognised it was crash tested and meet there safety criteria and being the 500 litres no issue at all

There is a box that you can tick for water tank, I have it in writing on my policy, no phone call required.

Yes i loved mine too , but like you it was drinking away about £80 a week , the fiat is sipping at £20 a week if im busy !!!
All i found with the VW is that i was carting around so much stuff i didnt need to purely because i had the space.
I went from one end of the scale to the other size wise , which maybe was a tad too drastic , looking back i should have got the doblo really , but im happy for now , its just a good job that i changed my work ethics to quality of work not quantity , 12 years of being a busy fool did me no good health wise
