That is a blast from the past.

Use a rats tail for a few weeks and you'll end up with arms like Arnie.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Personally i dont see the point of using pure in this way. I would rather use a proper cleaning solution then buff off.

Are they real leaded windows?  Not leaded stuck on the outside, but real old leaded windows?

Just use a Mr Muscle (or something similar) window cleaning spray and microfibre.  I also like that big blue industrial 'toilet paper' stuff too.

But with real leaded windows it's more of a 'best effort' type of clean than something I'd spend ages doing.

Also clean the outsides first 'cos they'll leak.  You can get the leakages when you go and clean the insides.

Tosh is right. You need a solvent based spray. Mr. Muscle actually works very well. But the spray bottle is horrible. Decant it into another spray bottle that can actually mist. You only need to mist a pane, then clean with microfiber. Repeat as needed. Change the cloth when damp. If these are the real leaded lights these ideally are done when either the heating is on full or in summer, as they condensate when cold (in winter), even from the warmth of your hand.

Price them really well, you will really hate it if it's not priced well.

Solvents dissolve dirt and evaporate. Easy to buff dry and great on dirty leaded lights.

You will find there are many different types of spray. Some good, some not so good. I had used the same spray for about 6 years, then they changed the formula inside. Now it's streaks galore. I think the solvent ratio had changed massively. Trial and error, but like Tosh said, Mr. Muscle (despite the silly name) isn't bad at all.

Haven't heard that expression in about 40 years ;D

Still the best way to do it, though ;)
