May be he does a fantastic job but just doesn't know what he is worth, some people are happy to make a small wage as they think that cleaners are looked down upon by the general public, this is only true if you charge low prices or may be he just hates selling therefore cheap price pulls them in without having to sell.

I phoned around the area last night and one cc who advertises in y/p quoted me £16 for the first carpet then £6 for every other . :o :o :o
The next one said about £100 for a 3 bed house and would take about 4 hours

Do you really think this bloke walks into a house, cleans a carpet and walks out with only £8 ::)

when was the last time you bought a new tyre and paid the price advertised on the window.

new valve, ballancing, disposal of old tyre. the low price is to get in the door then the extras are added on

if big national companies sell like this i'm sure some carpet cleaners have clicked on to it.

Hi,

When I first started cleaning in North London we would take on anything:

The guy who said did we need electricity as he'd been cut off. :o

The one who my partner thought had been stabbed in the head(he'd been spraying a car)who proceeded to walk over our clean carpet with absolutely filthy boots! >:(

Various ethnics who would have us paying them if they could have got away with it! :'(

After a while as we became more confident ,up went the prices and someone else got the above.

So these cowboys have a use as they take the jobs you just would'nt want and decent customers would'nt risk their soft furnishings for 'whole house £35'

Cheers,

doug

As you say Doug...

someone has to do them..might as well be the cowboy cleaner.

Expectations that the carpet will 'come up like new' lie with the filthy carpet brigade too... that's fine but the price just tripled

Cleaning I can do

Restoration cleaning I can do... I may moan a bit.

Resurrection cleaning I leave to them as wants it!

Cheers
Derek

As they say in the States, he could be a bait and switch operator, advertise low prices to get in the door then end up ripping the customer off. Who knows?.

£8 is a reasonable price per room if you use a TM that works out to the customer to be £0.15 per week over 12 mouths over 24 is £0.077 so what’s the problem

I think £8 a room would work if room was clear and you could work like Window Cleaner and do several houses in street.

You would not have time to Vac Pre Spray etc.
