Whos got the earliest start in the morning. Im on glass about 5.30 am 3 mornings a week
-
Can be up at 4-30 when doing an awning clean. ::)
-
I'd be happy to get up at 4.30 if I was in Spain - looking forward to the winter - not !!!!!!!!
-
The window cleaners in our local shopping centre are always out about 5am.
I don't know why they start so early but they alway have done since way back.
A lot of cleaners in central London start very early before the traffic builds up.
Also the yellow lines come into force at 6.30am and the wardens will get you after that. There is no exemption for anybody, least of all window cleaners.
-
For me its a traffic/parking/fine problem. Doesn't get light till 7-00 a.m.
-
I used to do the 4-30 start in Australia, finish at 09-00 ;D
-
Early starts are fine on commercial jobs, gets them out of the way before the 'rush'.What I find galling, is seeing window cleaners on residential rounds at 7 am! I wouldn't dream of being so rude and discourteous to people, what do lot think?

I agree, do have a couple of customers who want it at 8.00 a.m.
The law here is 8.00a.m.
-
Yeah i agree there i start at 9am. Thou i am thinking of starting at 8.30am instead. I do get some comments now and again when i get new work asking what time i intend to start.

YES when i was doing houses you could never be on a job before 9am and done this for 15 years HOWEVER all my work is now commercial and we are up at 7am and some times 6am, WAS thinking of puting a spot light on the end of my pole ;D

3 commercial cleans at 5.30 am dont want to be thought of as a pervert. Domestic 8.30 start
-
Out here in commuter land you do get the occasional customer who wants you to do their windows early before they go out to work. On my leaflets I used to put
"early mornings by arrangement" and it was taken up by a few people.
-
I always start at 8am in the Summer, then go onto a 9am start for the Winter, though by start, I mean go to the office and do some paperwork first, so actually get onto the glass about half an hour after that.
-
;DI always start work at 8am no matter what type of work I do.Because I do my work evry 4 weeks my customers know roughly what time I'm going to turn up and what day.Customers do get used to early starts, and I would definetly not start later in the winter what with it getting darker earlier.

I know what you're saying, but I only do about 5 hours a day to make my money as far as cleaning glass goes (I build and do property maintenance as well, and have my fingers in a few other pies also). So instead of finishing at 2, I work 'til 3. This is simply making use of the warmest part of the day....I'm a bit of a wimp really I suppose... :D

About 4.00 - 6.00 in the morning. I have to put my sweatshirt on! Once you aclimatise, 20 degrees in cold, so you'll spot me at windex-the one in the ski suit & gloves. :D

Sorry 4 calling you Karlosdave. If I get there I'll look out for the guy with the white patches where the sun glasses go
