There are lots of chemicals on the market mainly acids.
But I tend not to use them as hot pressure washing seems to do the job ok.
I do have a small flat surface cleaner which is brilliant and cleans a lot better than the bigger ones.
                          I have emailed you Mark.

What you want Malky is a turbo lance.
I dont rate those floaters, I bought one once on ebay and re sold it back on ebay.
I bought a 35cm Gerni flat surface cleaner I got it converted so it screws onto the Karcher lance and this is ideal as its very light at 30ft. :D
No seriously though its good in the walls.

Use a turbo lance as well Gary, just thought a floater would be more affective
I only got the idea after looking at the one I saw for sale with some other gear I was looking at. ;D ;D

Hi Gary,
Many thanks for the e-mail much appreciated.Malky said your the main man to ask.
I will be running a Karcher HDS 1000 BE feed with a I.B.C and would like to use a water softner , should I run the tank feed to a float tank on a skid mount or direct to the pump and move the water softner drip tank to the I.B.C .
Should I have a return pipe from pump to I.B.C .
Thanks again
Mark

Hi Mark I am a great believer in keeping things simple.
Are you talking about putting in a filter to condition the water.
I have a cut down IBC tank in my van, I use an inch pipe fitting and run an inch pipe to my machine. I dont bother having a return pipe or an inline pump.

Mark,
My HDS 1000 set up is direct from the barrels via a filter then to the pump, no return, I had the chemical intake disconected due to blocking up all the time, if I use chemicals I use a Karcher 1010 to spray on and revert back to the HDS for main Washer pressure, hard or soft water makes no odds at 180 bar, to many pipes equals more possible water leaks in your van as I have found out to my cost this year, hope you have a van at least 3.5 ton to carry your gear. ???

Hi Gary,
Thanks for reply.
No it's not a filter to condition water.
On a skid mount stsndard where the low pressure hose connects it goes to a small float tank which feed the pump.
Above the float tank and part of it is a small tank where you put liquid softner, with a drip feed which is turned on automatically when you fire up the boiler, to stop it from scaling up.
It will have an in-line filter.
I have got a Tech- Clean 18" flat surface cleaner for when using hot water on  concrete and block-paving on driveways.
Do you reduce the pressure as I don't want to cause damage.
My machine is pumping 3000 PSI  at 15 liters per min.

Hi Malky,
Did read up about your freeze up mate I'm gutted for you, all ok now.
But didn't you get a touch on the other one.
Is public liabilty and treament risk at a cost of £500 about right.
Do I need treatment [ the wife says YES ] as I'll only be doing drives for noe or should I get it anyway.
Both have a look at this PW american rig a bit OTT or what!
If you want I'll send you the rest a the links gone.

Mark

That rig is some set up.
I could never have anything like that, I wouldnt have any time for work as I'd always be polishing it.

I think you should just test it out maybe just turn it down a tad to start with, but provided its jetted right it shouldnt be a problem.
Ive tried one similar to this and I wasnt overly impressed as you have to walk very slowly.
I have a little Gerni surface cleaner and its the bees knees, just a shame it wasnt bigger. As its fantastic on small areas.

Mark,
I use the tech clean set up, You need full power to clean properly and will not cause damage as the pressure is reduced by being split 2 ways. I tend to sweep the area with a 40'' yard broom folowing up with the wirlawy then the turbo lance to tidy up and wash away debris.
