Been asking and posting about the value of websites for pressure washing recently and have got the impression that they don't work. i would like to be told otherwise as it beats pounding the pavements and knocking on doors. it seem s to me that people only decide to have their drives/patios cleaned when someone actually shows up and shows them what can be done wirh professional equipment and no ammount of leafleting or advertising seams to be satisfactory.

work is slow at this time of year but my worst month was august it just went dead then picked up in september and now gone quiet so it's time to get off to Spain for the winter.

ps only joking

Yea £9 odd a month is very expensive for hosting a web-site.

For about 2.5gb of data transfer per month, more than enough...

it will cost you about £20 per year.

shop around, virtual names are good.

Hi dustees
i use easyspace and have had no problems with them at all and i have had various sites with them,
i think you have probably been given enough  webspace and bandwith to start up your own radio station!!

yea for that much you could get 1000mb of web space & about 15gb of data transfer..

your web-site will only be about 300kb if that!

I am not an IT geek, but one I thing I do know is that 90%
of websites do not work, because they are not found.
Bottom line is, you get what you pay for.

Hi,

That’s not strictly true. If you submit your site to the search engines, get your keywords right, your site will be listed, google adwords is very good, if you know what your doing..

You get very good advertising for a very minimal cost, my site gets over 100 hits a day, I  can view my site statistics any hour of the day, I know what pages have been viewed, what time, the referring site etc etc.

The point was £9 a month is way over the top.

As I stated £20 per year absolute maximum.

Hi Mr Hewett,

To be brutally honest with you I make a lot more money from cleaning services, I went to college a few years ago now, I learnt to write hyper text markup language (this is what a web page is written with) most web site builders learn to use a web building program such as dreamweaver, adobe, etc. I just build them from scratch with the html.

I have studied web site submission in some detail, this is the main thing about a web-site, as has been said you could have the best web-site in the world, but what’s the point in paying a lot of hard earned money if no-one looks at it, as I said in my previous post, mine gets at least 100 visits a day it costs me £20 for hosting, £8 for the domain (every 2 years) & around £3 a month for adwords (google)

If you need any more advice, ask away…

Best regards

Paul
