I've never seen a specific software programme for carpet cleaning quotes but I would guess that it's pretty easy to set up a template in Exel to do them for you.

The problem with off the shelf software is that it often doesnt have the ability to add specific costs (like an extra charge for 'Allergy Treatment'  :-X )

How would you want your quotes laid out and what would you want them to include?

I won't promise anything but I have someone who may be able to make up a simple quote system. I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks so I'll 'sticky' this topic in the hope that other members may be able to contribute some ideas for it. Maybe it's something we could offer as a download (for a modest charge, of course  ;) )

Anyone that contributes any ideas to it here can have it free of charge.

How does that sound?

The one the 'Fast trak guys' use was written at great expence and the only way I can see that you are going to get it is to join!!

It is great and you can create different levels of prices in it.

Show the client the price on the Laptop screen and they believe it and pay it, no hesitation!!

Mike Bloxxom, please keep the forum in order I know you may make a shilling potentially selling computer programs but it is blooming annoying when you keep threads at the top when they should take order like evrything else!

Dave asked about something that may be of interest to lots of others. If everyone chips in and everyone benefits from it, what's the problem? It's not about us making money, it's about us covering our costs (and besides, I can think of easier ways of making money). Then it's a win-win situation. The more people that contribute the better it could be.

In a past life the company I worked for got an employee, who was fairly well clued up with MS Access, to create a database for production.

It was basically a database with a pretty bolt-on front end with dropdowns for selections etc., one department added the items they had built, serial nos etc, another department added theirs and so on, then final assembly allocated and issued the parts via the dropdown menus.

This can be easily adapted for cc's if someone is familiar enough to create it in the first place.  Main benifit....... can i take your details madam.... which level of service would you like.......... that'll be...... ta very much......

Easy peasy... if you know access well enough, and I don't.

I think this would be better than excel, as the customer will see something other than a spreadsheet, something along the lines of the fast track boys.

Just a thought.

This is something that I have just done on Excel its a basic program that converts the sq yardage of carpet into a total clean price for the house, with the breakdown of everything that you need to do to the carpet.

The prices can be changed whenever you want to.

you just go to the cell which needs changing press f2 and change the figure to what you want.

Hope this helps

When you open the message save the attachment to you computer and them open. You will need an excel sofeware program installed on your computer.

You will need to imput your prices yourself as the figures I have use are only make up ones, all you do is go to the cell which you want to change and press f2.

you will see the figure I have put in all you do is change it to what you want.

If you then drag the cursor down though the column it will change al the other rooms price as well.
