Leaflet idea
« on: December 08, 2005, 11:04:18 am »
It's been mentioned before that customers tend to read leaflets and if they don't have an immediate requirement for cleaning services, chuck the leaflet away.

How about putting something like the following on the bottom of the leaflet:

"10% discount.

Save this leaflet!

Use our services any time during 2006, produce this leaflet and get a 10% discount".[/i]

I think it'd encourage people to hold onto the leaflet and maybe use your services later in the year.

Any thoughts..?

It might work David, I've thought about a small card flyer with a calendar on the back but there's not really enough room on them for me to get all the info I require.
Any other ideas on increasing the life of a leaflet ?

I think the best way is if the advert has "value", either perceived or real.

A "voucher" of some sort has a perceived value (10% off, £20 or whatever) and an item such as a calendar or pen has a real value.

Just acept they are going to throw it away,
you wont be disapointed.

The secret is repeat.

Some companies repeat fornightly.

Although most people advise monthly.

I accept most people will throw it away!

However, if there's something simple I can do to ensure my leaflet is kept, or passed onto a friend, then that's gotta be a good thing.

The other thought I had was to hand delivered letter (In an envelope) with a tear off voucher on the bottom. Something like:

___________________________________________________

                                                                   Company Name
                                                                   Company address

Have your carpets professionally cleaned from £15!

Dear Householder

Let me introduce our company etc...blah, blah blah about company.

Our prices start from only £15! (Minimum charge of £35 applies)

More blah, blah, blah about the benefits of Carpet Cleaning.

What's more, if you use the voucher below before June 2005
you'll get a further 10% off our already fabulous prices!

Regards

Fred Smith

What about a printed sticker like address label size with your contact details & job.

"Sticky label for your address book, should you need us now or in the future"

Only thing I could think of.

Might be worth a try.

Arthur , it was a chap called Sherlock who reminded me about them and an idea I found in the 90 Marketing ideas book I got from the states.

Ron did tell me where to get them but I must have delted his email.
Looked on Web but could only find a dodgy Company.

A fridge magnet with your business card or appointment slot on it does the trick for me, most people love them and stick them on their fridge straight away, (even the posh people ;D)

I agree - people love those magnets.  They can stick them to a file cabinet at work or on the fridge at home.

You might also try a 3-step flyer or mailer; they worked very well for me:
- $25 off the first appointment
- $10 off the 3rd appointment
- $10 off the 5th appointment

Make sure each offer is in it's own "box" to be cut or torn out.

They must submit the coupon on their scheduled cleaning day.  I found most people forgot about the remaining coupons because they were so satisfied with our service.

Great Idea Steve especially when people collect fridge magnets.

Another Idea is to put business cards same as mini cabs do with a discount feature on the  corner i.e ring for latest discounts ~ Or why not offer free cleaning for their house if they refer 5 clients ??? dont forget they have neighbours and who wouldnt refer friends for a chance of free carpet cleaning for themselves.

In the states you can get them fom Staples. I dont know if there is a Staples here or not, but I am sure any office supply shop should have them. You can have magnetic business cards made up but a cheaper way is to buy the magnet which has a sticky side and then stick your card on it. Cheep but it works. Best, Dave.

Here's an idea I got from my mobile company. Offer a £90 cash back in twelve months time. Most people forget, and if you, like me remember to claim it never turns up.

Probably not a good idea actually, as I will not be using Mobileshop again and I like to tell people about it alot. ;)
