Karcher 801b industrial Pressure Washer
« on: January 03, 2014, 07:53:44 am »
Hi All,
Bought 2 x Karcher 801 pressure washers last year, have one bolted into back of one of my vans which hasn't missed a beat in a year which leaves me with an "as new" condition washer at my storage unit.
It has been used for approx 15 minutes except for being started up and run for 15 minutes every week to keep all the parts in working order.
Great bit of kit, I bought them as the company I used to work for used them nationwide to clean the exterior for Tescos and we never had any problems with them compared to other units we trialled and used.
Can been seen working, any test welcome but unmarked, no scratches, really is showroom condition. Any trial/test welcome.
Last time I checked they were going for approx 4250k-5k but looking for £3500.(NO VAT)
Accessories also available including 7.8m extension lance, 18" whirlaway, guns (sold with one but others available)

Any questions give me a call anytime

How does this mange to run a whirlaway?

Stat's show it's underpowered in both flow and pressure.

Much more suited towards hot work I'd have thought, and no doubt very good at what it's meant for.

What do you do with the other one?

Hi Griffus,
yes I won't deny your right, I usually use the whirlaway connected to a edge grimebuster (3000-3500psi) for large areas of gum and to make large floor surface cleans much less labour intensive but these jobs are few and far between for me and are usually only an add on. The whirlaway is just an add on if anyone required one for lighter work.
However I have tested the whirlaway with the Karcher and it is more than adequate for domestic and commercial patios, pathways, warehouses where it is just required to clean dirt/mud/sap etc but does struggle when you get to staining like lichen and oil (also not any good for gum busts but then i've always used a gun/lance when doing a gum bust with pressure washing methods anyway, that applies to the grimebuster also).

The identical PW in the back of the van I use for gum busts, building washing, graffiti with chemicals...pretty much anything and highest i have been when using it is 17 metres in a cherry picker where it had no problem pumping the water upwards for 7-8 hours per day. I worked for a company for 9 years who cleaned exterior of Tesco's and we trialled every machine going and from 2010 onwards where Karcher seemed to get there act together on the petrol designs and deliver reliability my personal view (and i'm sure their are many who will disagree but I just go on my experience) is these are the best in their price bracket.
I'm more than happy for anyone to test it, it is set up to a water supply at my unit.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Adam

Thanks guys, not sure which you meant were out of date. It was bought with vat (4250-5000) but the actual cost i was recommended to sell for by a karcher rep (karcher plant and uk ho 1/4 mile from my house and rep is a neighbour) is what is stated but it is a suck it and see. Obviously it was a recommendation but he said its very difficult to price as a one off sale as some suppliers take a small margin on big accounts and some are plain extortionate. (not my opinion) and as I'm sure were all aware no suppliers will disclose their prices on the internet until they order them from karcher, you have to ring and take the sales pitch. This is priced as a one off 2nd hand sale of perfect condition machine. Price is always negotiable but any info from inside the market as to value greatly appreciated. Seen couple of sub standard well used models on ebay last 3 months for 2k-3150k. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks guys
Adam

???????
No rudeness implied, conveyed or intended on my part, grateful for the advice and up to date pricing of these machines. I have since found out that Kev indeed is accurate, I have been incorrectly advised and overpriced the machine and when I get a chance I will adjust price in line with market prices.

I thought it was rude in that you had a secondhand machine for sale ,you had described it well and took the time to add pictures . You replied promptly to questions regarding it ,you generated interest in your item with potential customers.
As we say "you had laid your stall out well"
Another trader then comes along Hi-jacks your thread ,offers to sell the item cheaper and also offers delivery times....I consider that Rude and unprofessional!
I appreciate you asked for advice on price but I feel a email or discrete phone call would have been slightly more diplomatic....If the only outcome was to offer advice on the secondhand value.

Oh i'm with you, yes possibly but i'm sure your aware like me it's a dog eat dog sector. No offence taken from the hi-jack, I had overpriced it but was going on advice and Mr Karcher didn't really get the depreciation right but then I dont' have heavy discount from Karcher or buy in bulk from them so I don't get the greatest deals direct.
Saying that, it is just a back up unit to me, I am not a trader but a mere humble 2 man cleaning company and the amount of pressure washing we do doesn't merit such a luxury as a spare expensive unit. I don't need to sell it, just trying to make room in my unit for the new arrival of things I do use so if it can be got NEW elsewhere for cheaper I would do the same.

For info and after consulting EBAY prices where there are other "refurbished" units for 2k I have lowered the price to £2500 with the inclusion of the gun and the extension lance.
I can however, deliver NOW for a reasonable cost depending on location and when I get a day off.

But thanks for the comments, You sir, like me, are a gentleman of the cleaning industry.

Chris

Once again you have a selective reading problem!

My post simply said "Sorry yoiur prices are a little out of date"!

You can set your stall out as well as you want to but if your prices are too high and furthermore not aware of the fact you are not going to sell your item are you?

It was Neil Jones who questioned if I had mixed it up possibly with a cold one and it was only then I stated a price I could obtain one for with a delivery time end of!
