Voucher Books Ltd - Heard of them?
« on: January 09, 2010, 12:54:29 pm »
Hi all,Just had a call from a company called vouchers books ltd and trying to sell me advertising in their new venture in the Manchester area.Has anyone heard of them or used them.Basically told me they will distribute 12000 voucher books containing various businesses offers, bi monthly.Wanted £130 for one issue and that to include artwork.

I'm very keen to get up and running in CC and will try most things within budget of course.Any advise on the above idea please.

Thanks

Wayne

Where did they get your number from Wayne?
That works.

I doubt whether voucher books will work for you though.

Do you have a web site?
They work so long as they are optimised to get on page one of google and other search engines. They do take there time to get to there, so the sooner you get one the sooner you will be there.

This one cost me £135 and allows me to change wording as I want.

type into google carpet cleaners wigan and I will be in the first three under the map.

avoid it they dont work i tried one before and got nothing from it best thing to do is make up a marketing letter and go round pubs and clubs, restaurants etc because the commercial work is where the money is i have night clubs up here in scotland and clean the carpets in them every 2 months some even every month and dont cut your own throat on price there is good money in it one of my clubs take 7 hours to clean and im making £600 for it

Hope this helps

YP do something similar in latest editions.

You can have something in your advert which refers to a coupon that is printed elsewhere in the YP.

I've only seen this in somebody else's YP so don't quote me as having this exactly 100% correct.

There's no end of ad companies willing to take your money whilst promising fantastic returns. The people selling this fantastic "opportunity" are normally on commission and will tell you anything to get your business.

I use an answering service to take incomming calls and they are excellent at filtering out the sales calls. Every now and then one of these sly sales people sneak through (normally yellow pages) by saying something like they "need to speak to me urgently about my ad with them" (I don't have an ad with them). If you take the good advice of most on here you will just run the ad's and marketing you choose to do instead of the ad's the marketing people want you to do, if that makes sense.

Hi all new here first post bla bla have to agree with Mark when i started 10 years ago every one and there dog was offering me fantastic advertising i could not refuse. But remember if you take up to many of these offers and pay to much money your skint & bust before you start. just get out there and sale yourself instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you. Keep your money in your pocket & your standards high. worked for me.
