Getting more referrals
« on: January 22, 2004, 09:04:15 pm »
I want to try and generate more referrals from my customers.  I do good work, no complaints, offer a money back guarantee but think I could get more referrals if I had some sort of system.

Do you offer any incentives? Do you have any systems in place.

thanks
Mark Roberts

PS. by referrals I mean a customer who you've worked for passes your name to her friend etc.

This is a good subject....and also need help!
At present I always send out a "thankyou " letter to new clients on completion and include 3 business cards to encourage referals...but I don't offer any incentive.
What about the rest of'ya?

Hi tony
Does this bring in new customers ?

I used to send out £5 vouchers to customers.
Im about to send out letters to all customers that have not booked for a year.

I get a lot of referalls now (not that I'm big headed!)
I don't really offer incentives I just make a point of being on time, be happy, honest, reliable and that seems to be enough to get recommended. :D
I must be doing something right cause most customers ask me for cards to pass on to friends and family ;)

Easy

ask for them

write on the business cards the customers name

so when she or he gives them to someone you know who it came from

Give them a call thank them

thank you card works great too

or do both

Almost forgot

to get them your work has to good too.
