If I posted which equipment I had, wouldn't it be tempting for some unsavoury type to pay me a visit one dark evening?

The only kit I'll admit to on this thread is a well used bucket and sponge (for upholstery)

Safe and happy cleaning:)

Good point about nasty characters visiting late at night as these forums are open to the public ::)
I know you never meant that there are any dodgy CCs in the forum :o
I have Prochem and Diamondback machines plus usual accessories including expensive alarm system and PIR lighting and 8 stone Dobermann that can reach the end of my drive in 3 seconds 8). Add that to my natural aggression, 15 years training in 2 martial arts, Military Police background and a firearms certificate ..............go ahead, make my day ;).

Nice kit Lee.

When do you go on holiday? What's your alarm code? Does your dog prefer PAL or raw sausages? Where do you keep your van keys? :)

Safe, happy and secure cleaning:)

I only use a magic wand isn’t that all you need? But as back up TM, RX20, Ninja, rotary, blower plus other bit and pieces these are only use these as a last resort.  Sorry to be facetious.

Security to the above not a problem 1.wife 2.mothering law 3.me and over & under if this doesn’t work the kids are to push him/them in the pond to be suck to death by my fish, but saying that, their probably fast a sleep and not a care in the world.

I've probably as much gear sitting unused as used daily.

on van

ninja, host for pre-spray agitation, alltec spotting machine, blower, fan, texathem system, sebo, turbo vac, sprayers, tools etc etc.

in garage

woodbridge powermate, old hoses, wands I don't like, broken or sized (sp) sprayers, rotary, hardfloor bits and pieces, old vacuum, steam generator

Next buy is a truckmount or recoil 3.

Mark

ps. we should have a carpet cleaners car boot sale so i can clear out my garage

Reading this tread has brought back some painfull memories.

On 4th October 2000 I had:

  • 2 extraction machines - one 2x3 stage vac, one 4x2 stage
    1 D9 vacuum cleaner + power head
    1 Ultimate dry cleaning machine
    1 2-jet Glidemaster wand
    1 Pilediver (weighted dragwand)
    1 4-jet Prochem wand
    3 Sahara Pro turbo driers
10 or 12 hand tools (curtain, rug, stair, edge & detail)
150 ft of solution & vac hoses
    4 racks of chemicals
Plus an assortment of odds & ends, terry towels, damp meter etc.

By the end of the day, having left the van for 19 minutes, locked and alarmed, in a hospital car park, I had nothing.

The van had been stolen, about half the contents removed, and the rest destroyed by fire an hour and a half later.

I make no appology for posting slightly off-topic, since I feel that a reminder about security is never a waste of words. I did apreciate the humour that has appeared in the thread and I most sincerely hope that that none of you ever find yourselves in that situation, which was far from funny.

Clean long and prosper,

John.

My van belongs to my dog---- he just lets me drive it occasionally. On the two occasions in 6 years he has not been with me I had two attacks on the van one successful, fortunately not too serious just a bag of home made carpet reair tools and some rather nasty solvent which I hope they had a go with.

Mark,

The alarm was a 'Maple Commercial Vehicle Alarm', as fitted by BT to their vans.

A witness heard the window smash, the alarm sound and the van speed off "all within seconds". Professional vehicle thieves will overcome most alarms in a surprisingly short time.

I now have an alarm that cost over £250 plus an imobiliser which cuts the deisel and electrics and am concidering a pedal locking mechanism made from a section of steel girder.

Hope I never loose my keys  ::)
