in terms of your business?
when i first started out back in 1993 i was out nearly every day canvassing for months on end to try and get a round together...
now its a case of just cleaning the work as fast as possible and then an early finish... :)

any reason why?same routine?same boring work?
ive found working shorter days, using the best WFP equipment(hot water/electric reels/xtreme poles, etc),a clean lifestyle and little tweaks in refining work keeps me motivated.....also keeping work bang up to date all year round(apart from hols)and always being mega organised helps a lot.....
-
Always motivated! I have a goal/ dream , so won’t stop TIL I get there!!
then when you get there you ll reach a plateau and be comfortable with your income and working hours....the best place to be IMO....with just little tweaks and refining work needed from time to time to keep slowly moving forward earnings wise(without extra working hours) :)
-
After having worked in an office for many years with the perpetual round of appraisals, death-by-Powerpoint and jumped-up management it's just a breath of fresh air to work for yourself, choose your own customers, choose the hours you work etc.. I've built up a decent round now so just happy cruisin' along.

its probably to have a decent round with short hours and a good income......it doesnt happen overnight...it takes years of building....

My motivation to make money and be involved in business is high, i enjoy picking up new work and watching the money come in but im pretty much fed up with cleaning windows everyday. Motivation is pretty low and has been for a good year or so but i keep plodding along as overall there are much worse things i could be doing.
Some days i really enjoy it others i really hate it.
BUT i know its not going to be forever, at least not working 5 days a week, i will either employ or end up doing it part time alongside something else or maybe ill do something else entirely but i wont be cleaning windows everyday forever thats for sure, sod that.

To create an income for myself without having to work for it. The ultimate goal is to have some holiday lets abroad bringing in an income , so I don’t have to work until I retire . Without having goals/ dreams in life , you just wander round aimlessly and end up nowhere. At least if you aim for something and get halfway there, then you still have achieved something in life :)

When you get to 50 you get sick of the ignorant customers and the crappy payers and tight gits in west yorkshire ,dont get me wrong a big part of my work is good but its the crap that puts me in this mood 😔😔😔

surely as you get older and gain experience in life(im 47 by the way) you learn to not let the odd crappy customer(ex customer!)get to you surely?life s too short to waste time and energy on these types of people....
if their putting you in a bad mood your letting them control your piece of mind......dont let them....

I am a very motivated, driven person. I enjoy the finer things in life, fast cars, holidays abroad, a holiday home, eating out etc, etc. These things don’t come cheap and I don’t mind a bit of hard graft, knowing the rewards it brings.
-
Who wants to work in their seventies ffs!
Dazmond get a life! My daughters goldfish has more ambition than that.
-
I'm not motivated at all and furthermore I don't care.

And I hope you are to. If you enjoy what you do and your enjoy good health then good for you.
Both my father and grandfather worked well into their eighties.

I certainly don't want to work into my seventies but I have no option as I haven't paid into the UK pension fund long enough to claim a full pension. So until things change and I honestly can't work any longer, my moto is "I retire when I expire."

Someone put up a post which has since been deleted.
"Sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it" (or words to that effect.)
I was going to 'like' that as I know how you feel. I feel the same way sometimes.

I lost all my motivation to live when Lee Priory left the forum; can someone motivate him out of his hot tub to come back on and motivate me back to being motivated again?
And can anyone recommend a good motivational window cleaning magazine to read while Priory is drying his ball (that's singular; least said soonest mendest......it was hot tub accident while he was deleting his account :-X) before becoming back being motivational online?

That happens in most walks of life not just windows. In 2000 I walked away from a six figure salary mainly because I had a stroke, but if I had gone back I would have just ended up smacking someone or dying according to my Doctor. It took the stroke to make me realise just how stressed I was and how much I hated the job. Money is not everything, health and happiness are the key.

I hope I'm fit and well for my age in my 70's.
I don't want to have to work then but I quite like the idea of a couple of half days (3 hours) a week of easy work paying the equivalent of the better side of a £100 a time. Maybe just do that two weeks a month and that adds over £400 a month to any other income you might have.
Perfect for treats for grandkids, days out, weekends away. And it keeps you moving and healthy.
Don't know if I'd do it in my 70's but certainly mid 60's when state pension kicks in - employ someone on the bulk of the round, pay them £2000 in wages, bonuses and costs and bring in north of £3000. That would be £1000 a month for admin and oversight. Then if it's the right person sell them the round when I'm 70 and let them pay me monthly over 12/18/24 months.

my dads still smoking too...hes been smoking since he was 11 so 63 years puffing away! ;D...nowt wrong with him...he also looks great for his age....
It makes me so mad that in a country this wealthy a guy still has to do manual work in his mid 70's, I blame Thatcher and Brexit for this.

driving a van picking up perfume and he does some packing occasionally too....he enjoys it....he does around 16 hours a week.....
he doesnt HAVE to do it......its his choice....the extra money comes in handy for even more days out with the grand kids/holidays abroad with mum... :)

I love this game so much and I'm in it for the long haul. I'm 57 now and have no plans to ever retire. The nearest I'll come to it is cutting back to 2 or 3 days a week, which may happen when I'm 70 (ish) if I make it that far.

I hope I'm fit and well for my age in my 70's.
Are you exercising, Gold?
And by exercising I mean exercising; work and walking isn't exercise.
-
I don’t really think about motivation, I just get up and go to work. 😁

Not much. Certainly not by your definition. Maybe a 15 mile cycle on my bike once a week.
