I know of one forum where you have to register with your tel number and they will ring you to verify who you are, and it has to be a landline number, so i never joined.

Why didnt you join Mark?

Joe my landline number is a private number for friends and family only, if they allowed mobiles then i would of joined.

Ken

Not so much "safe and happy cleaning" looks more like safe sex! Never seen a condom that big before. ;D

You must be very safe! ;D

Perhaps your new tag should therefore be "sex and happy cleaning" ;D

For those struggling to sort their avatar...

Firstly you need to have an avatar picture saved on your computer somewhere.

I think your avatar has to be no more than 100 pixels wide, and no more than about 120 pixels high ( i think, can't find the exact figure for height.)

They have to be in jpg format too i think.

If anyone has a picture and they don't know how to edit it down for an avatar, send it to me via email and I'll crop it down for you :)

jimnealuk@gmail.com

How to set your avatar:

1) scroll up to the top of the page and click the button marked Profile (maybe right-click it and open it in a new window so you can keep this one open)

2) Click on Forum Profile Information

3) Click on the radio button marked I will upload my own picture:

4) Click on Browse and navigate to your picture, click on it and then select the Open button.  The file name and path should appear in the text box.

5) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Change Profile

If it has worked, you should now see your avatar picture displayed next to where it says "I will upload my own picture"

[Edited for mistake 15/11/08!]
You don't have to delete your account to change your name either!

You can change your displayed name as follows:

1) Scroll up to the top of the page and click the button marked Profile (maybe right-click it and open it in a new window so you can keep this one open)

2) Click on Account Related Settings

3) Click in the text area where it says Name: and type in your Name.

4)  Scroll down and click the Change Profile button

If you're worried about people not knowing who you are, just add to your signature "formerly known as XXXXXX !"  Folks soon catch up ;)

Signature is edited in the Forum Profile Information section, same as the avatar.

Most people will be saying "Yeah yeah this is really dumb basic stuff, I know this" but I bet a few don't know how to do this, so I hope it helps one or two of us :)

How do your customers phone you?

Although my number is readily available amd so is Doug I do not think the umbers would need to show in your id  on general view

Moderators do have a problem with hidden emails  as we cannot see them  which is often why you cannot be told why your post  was removed,

Jim thanks for that info, i was pleased when i read this :D as i would like to add my name to my account! (have tried and failed previously) Then was sad  :( when i couldn't find the NAME section in the Forum profile Information.

Underneath the browse section where you change your avatar / picture in the personal details section it only has :- Birthday, location and gender, with no other facility to change my name!

Am i looking in the wrong place?

cheers
