Not quite a vid, but i took several photos along the way. You may find them helpful, you may not.

This is for a purefreedom reel.
Once i took it apart, i found the correct drill bit to match the pre cut holes in the cog and sat the cog against the side of the reel. Marked the holes and drilled. I also needed to use a saw and trim down the red spacer already on the reel.
Pushed a bolt through from the inside out. I used two nuts on the thread to space the cog away from the reel. This proved difficult as i had to build the reel back up at this point. So long nose pliers and a spanner came very handy.
So its the side of reel, 2nuts (acting as a spacer), then the cog and secured with bolts.

Hi Nathan, its probably a stupid question but does the motor have a "ratchet" mechanism to allow you to pull the hose out to the required length without any hassle?

This isnt the same seller, but this is virtually what i bought.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-E-scooter-24-volt-300-watt-Motor-Chain-drive-/261310340549?hash=item3cd74f5dc5

The motor doesnt really give an resistances when not being used.  Therefore turning the cog is relatively easy as in the case of walking your hose out.
Because of using a 12v power supply tona 24v motor, if you was to hold onto the hose or the example of  someone standing on the hose whilst winding if back in, the hose will stop, so no chance of causing an accident

So a 24v motor on a 12v supply isn't a problem?
I have the pure freedom double reel bolted into the van, I'll need to see if it can be dismantled in situ.

It is a complete faff taking it apart and fixing the cog to the reel. But its worth it.
