Roy,

I'll give Mrs Reynolds a call tomorrow.

Cheers mate.

Regards,

Tosh.

PS.  I haven't a clue where Bigswear is!  But from your post I'm guessing it's not far from Chepstow, even though it's not a Chepstow number!

Bigswear is just up from Tintern, you go towards monmouth and turn right over the River bridge.

I phoned Mrs Reynolds this morning; she heard my accent (a Geordie one) and was over the moon because she too is from the North East.

I asked her where exactly she was from and she said, 'Sunderland'.

Being a Geordie, we hate Macams (people from Sunderland), so I bade her farewell and said 'Hell would freeze over before I cleaned your stinking windows'.

Not really, she is a Macam though, so I'll charge her an extra 50 p on my initial quote.

Thanks for the tip, Roy, it seems many of her neighbors are after a window cleaner and it sounds like a pleasant place to work in.

Cheers,

That's a beer I owe you.

Regards,

Tosh.

Roy,

I'm not long back from Bigswear, which I confused for Brockweir; but got there in the end.

It was three small(ish) semi-sized houses and two bungalows, one with a conservatory.

I got decent prices for them and there's more work in the pipeline here.

Anyway,

Cheers,

Tosh.

Only a Geordie-Japanese ex-army sergeant could mix up Bigsweir and Brockweir! ;D

Repeat after me - Bigsweir is the blue bridge, Brockweir is the rusty white bridge - I would've thought that a Geordie could differentiate a bridge or two - after all there's loads on the Tyne! ;D

((I'm only jealous cuz such a fantastic part of the country is just too far away (25 miles and a bridge toll) for me to work in!))

Malc,

It is picturesque; though a tadge snobby.  One neighbor there was complaining to me that another neighbor had built a fence and wasn't happy about it.

The offending fence was no-where near this ladies property; as in you couldn't see it from her house, so I asked why the fence is a problem.

'Because this is a hedge and stone-wall area', she told me!!!!

I thought if that's the worst she can complain about, she's extremely lucky, compared to the 'drugs, loud-music and chav' problems some of my other customers have.

----------------------------

Oh, as for being confused about bridges (this next bit is true), yesturday morning I had a text message from what I thought was the lady Roy had put onto me; it was from a 'Vannessa in B'Wier'.

I assumed it was 'Roy's lady' from Bigsweir reminding me to come and quote for her.  We exchanged text messages and I turned up to quote.  I called the lady Vanessa, but she told me her name is June!

That really confused me.

In the end I phoned up 'Vanessa'; and as it turned out she was some lady I'd met briefly at traffic lights in town and given a business card too.

Anyway, this Vanessa who lived in 'B'Weir', is actually in Brockweir, the place I mistook for Bigswear.  So not only did I confuse locations, but also potential new customers.

It was a strange day and I think my 5.00 am start and too much heat didn't help either.

No, that was Lammy's nerve, when he threatened to knock your head off and you wet your knickers.

That was really funny. ;D
