i keep getting numbness in my right hand.its happening every working day now as soon as i start poling.it usually eases off as the day goes on but now its started to affect my drumming.last night my whole hand was numb during the last few songs after a 2 hour set.it then goes as soon as i stop drumming and im packing my gear away.

annoying as hell.its defo getting worse.i used to get it just every now and then.now its every day.

I've also used the following exercises when my hands have felt painful or tired:

yes i do sometimes and this eases it for a while but it feels strange as im right handed(its as if ive just picked up a wfp for the first time!) ;D.maybe i just need to get used to working that way.i can squeegee with my left hand but nowhere near as good/fast as my right hand.same with wfp.

Hi Daz.
Here's some links for you.

I injured my carpal tunnel on both wrists being silly on my punch bag not wearing gloves 😢
Probably 5 to 7 years ago.

Suffered nearly a year.
Got book did stretches, within a couple of months 90% better.

Book covers stretches for top half of body.

With me it seemed I was tight in my neck, after doing stretches for 6-8 weeks my neck made a cracking sound😆 and I felt an instant release along my arms.

Should do more stretching and powerball but I'm a lazy sod.

I had similar pains in my hands to you.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll be 100% soon

Look up makers of powerball, strengthens wrist forearms, shoulders.

I know your a gym go er daz, so no weed but sometimes weight training can cause tightness in your body.

Get better soon.

Lee.

If you're not ambidextrous you should probably find another profession.

I had al the symptoms few years ago went to see the doctor

He felt it wasn't, thought was over worked tendons that ran through the fore arms and ironically shoulders

I see the sports therapists anyway mentioned to her  and she releases the pressure through the forearms hands and it seems to past about a month before another session it gets alot worse if I use a heavier pole or if I have a session with the the 47 or a couple new cleans

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is caused by twisting ligaments around tenons. Avoid twisting motions and within six months it will correct itself if you don't want to suffer the agonising pain and have to have an operation to have ligaments untwisted,......worked for me as I was due an operation. Figured out what I was doing wrong, stopped it completely to this day, never required an operation, pain disappeared, CTS disappeared and will never do what caused it in the first place ever again :)

If it's any help - I suffered with the symptoms you mentioned in your post. I asked my GP to refer me to a physiotherapist and she diagnosed how my lazy stance was causing the numbness. She gave me an elastic scarf which one fastens to a solid object at waist height and then you carry out simple pulling exercises with an emphases on standing correctly as you perform them . She also  advised me to invest in a wobble board for calf muscle pain, which I now use daily.

It's because youve used extreme poles for years and now you've gone back to a heavier pole!

Mayb not. But it won't help that's for sure.

Carpal Tunnel affects the thumb, first, middle and "half" of the ring finger. The little and other half of the ring finger are not affected by CP.
