Weekend working
« on: August 07, 2016, 11:34:23 am »
Loads of posts on Facebook with guys working Saturday and Sunday.

I completely get this, if it's a contracted commercial job (not that I'd do it) but why on earth would you want to work weekends in a job that is so easy to make money Monday-Friday?

Depends on your workload and if you have anything planned at the weekend. I worked half a day yesterday starting at seven. Well in excess of £200. I could have wasted my morning on here or watching crap TV. First job was a big commercial clean that has to be done at the weekend. Generally I try to keep the weekend clear.

Don't get it either. One of the positives of being self employed for me was that I'd be able to earn my crust in less than a week.

I often work over the weekend then may take the rest of the week off.
All depends what the jobs are as I'm not just taking about cleaning windows.

I'll do the odd Saturday morning on some offices I do, purely because the car park is empty and I can do the jobs in half the time.

Do the odd Saturday and skip the odd Monday, as long as your not having to do a six or seven day week just to get by
then who cares.

I either do Saturdays or have to go shopping with her indoors.
Soffits and gutters anyone?  ;D

I get it, if you're a sad lonely old sod with no one else to talk to.

Weekends are family time and time spent doing something for yourselves.

The great advantage of being self employed it give you the choice when you want to work and when you don't to suite your family commitments. It's nothing to do about being a lonely old sod you cheeky beggar  ;D ;D

Anyhow just wait until you’re a grandparent yourself like me and when the grandchildren get on yer nerves you can always hand them back to their parents. Oh the joys of getting old  :D

I was already earning plenty before taking the franchise route. I'm actually clearing a lot less now than I was before.

Also I'd never expect any of my franchisees to work the weekends, infact I actively discourage it.

different lifestyles?other commitments?really bad weather getting them behind schedule?

the beauty is you can do what you want, when you want in this game to a certain degree.

i very rarely work weekends anymore but i do work the odd saturday if im behind schedule sometimes, usually in the winter months.

some of us havent got much of a family and dont want anymore "family" time anyway.more time with our latest girlfriend/very *friendly* person/mistress maybe. :D
price higher/work harder!
