He feet should stay dry as long as he doesn't go out in the rain, stand in puddles or work with water.

i have a north face goretex jacket and its great for keeping you dry and fits over a fleece and dickies jacket, baseball cap and hood up when working in the rain.

as for boots they have to be goretex.i wear bergaus ones and they are light, comfortable and keep your feet bone dry.i wear them all year round.

ive tried all the cheapo boots and ive found they are a waste of money as my feet were wet after a while.i buy a new pair of gortex boots around every 18 months to 2 years.
price higher/work harder!

im into fishing..wading in rivers etc spent half my life in muddy fields
and walking in streams.

Full gortex boots are overated and overpriced,if you want a good
compromise that will last, you need a rubber bottom with maybe
a waterproof material upper.

chub boots and the likes of are ideal..warm waterproof and easy to
walk in for the more dainty amongst you..best of all relatively cheap
at around £40

Goretex walking boots aren't over rated. For walking in moderately wet conditions they are prefect. For standing around in wet and mud, Wellington type boots are the best. For winter work, I have found these the best:

chub boots matey have a shoe part like a wellington but better
quality and the soles are better aswell and dont wear as quick

Dont get me wrong i use wellingtons aswell muckboots are good
and ive had a pair of skee-tek for nearly ten yers but can be a bugger
to walk any distance.

Chub boots are a good reliable relatively light boot and ive walked
miles in them through streams and drenched fields, perfect for standing
around wfping in the rain for the more dainty amongst us ;D

Ohh. Just looked up Chub boots. I had never heard of them. They look a bit strange, but I see what you mean. I would quite like a pair.  ;D

They look like something a builder would wear to me or someone looking for scrap metal!
