Help with dog soiled carpets
« on: November 04, 2003, 11:56:56 pm »
???
Can anyone please give me some advise as how to clean a dirty carpet. The day we were due to go on holiday at an early start the dog made a mess on my new white carpets. We cleaned it up as directed on the spray cleaner but then my husband got impatient and rubbed the stain into the carpet. On our return the marks are still there, even after I have re-applied the dry foam cleaner as directed again.
Without having to have the whole room cleaned is there anything that I can get the brown stains out with?
Thanks
lyn

Hi Lyn

Give Prochem a call, explain what happened and they will hopefully have a solution. If you've rubbed it in it may now be a dye stain and might leave a permanant mark.

try also a heavy pre-spray, (enzyme pre-spray,?) agitate (don't scrub!) leave for 5-15mins and then extract with machine.

Prochem are on 0208 974 1515

Hope i've been of some help

Thank you Martin & John for your advise.
The stain remover that I have already tried was a spray made by 1001, which is an aerosol foam - but to no great affect I'm afraid. If I can not get the stain out any other way then I shall contact Prochem.

Hi Lynn

I'd forget Prochem it's probably beyond restoration now with all thats been applied.

Contact your contents insurance instead assuming you have accidental cover you'll be fine to claim for a new carpet.

What woodman says is quite true if is now a dye stain...

You might want to try some sort of oxi-gen/oxi brite product it will have a bleaching effect and you will need to use it over an area larger than that of the stain to blend it in, maybe better with a cloth.

Oxy-gen you can pobably get from asda or similar.

Oxi-brite is from prochem and is obviously a professional product and so will be more expensive.

Try to find a local supplier of pro chemicals in YP and ask if they stock it or know who does.
Glad to be of help.

Hi

Since it was attacked straight away with products then an anti-bacterial product shouldn't be needed.

Did it come out???

Thanks to all of you who offered advise.
I tried the new Vanish product as directed and it worked!
Stain all gone with just a bit of residue stickyness left.
Great to know that if I have a problem I can ask you for help, so many thanks and a Happy Xmas and a successful New Year to you.

Hi, see my Press Release under heading 'How to add value to your business in 2004' any soiling of this nature can contain harmful pathogens, this new product, Steri-X KILLS all known harmful pathogens. It would enable the owners of Cleaning Service companies to specialise, and charge premium prices, for this type of service. Why not, this type of soiling is potentially hazardous, and very unpleasant!
