There's a guy on there today who has spent 7 hours on a roof with a wire brush  ;D
But don't worry he's getting his karcher on it tomorrow.

And he doesn't even know what a 'coney thing' is ?!

If you have that little knowledge of pressure washing then you shouldn't be any where near this roof job.

Typical it looks easy and any monkey can do it attitude.

That site makes all our topics sound intelligent.

Hi fellas,

Are there courses out there that you would recommend as a good standard and professional as I have been looking for a while now and don't want to go down the route of doing a course to find what I have learnt isn't up to the standard that you guys work to.

Or is it a case of the best way to learn is on the job from someone experienced? The reason I like the idea of a course is as you guys have pointed out there seems to be a lot of bad practise taking place and I wouldn't want to learn the bad habits etc.

Thanks,
Tom

Do a Smartseal ( www.smartseal.co.uk  ) course.
It won;t make you Pro but it will give you a introduction into the industry.

Learn by shadowing someone. Courses will be a benefit but it won't make you a pro.

I see these 1 week plasterers courses where people go on them, then buy a van and away they go. It doesn't make them a pro though, ask any plasterer.

Tom

There isn't a training course out there that will help you to understand the bits between the obvious.

We all need a machine, we all need a water supply, we all need something to clean but it's the link stuff that you have to pick up.

I'll save you some money.

If you get stuck, want a chat, some help with anything, whether set up or anything else post it on here or email me and I will help you out.

There's nothing complicated about what we do but there is a lot to it if you want to be better than the average. They won't teach you that at Smartarseseal

Rob ;D

What Rob has said +1
Tom, any training course will show you the basic's think I answered this bit before, as to getting to a "standard" then that takes time and experience sometimes years, it doesn't come overnight.
I noticed you are in Essex, this is not any area we cover, but how serious are you at doing this line of work? I might be able to help.

Roger, its not something I will be doing before the new year but I like to get my head around as much as possible in advance, thanks for the guidance I will no doubt be on here bothering you and everyone else for advice as my biggest concern was picking up some bad habits.
