We do window cleaning and have a good, solid customer base. We also do gutter clearing, fascia and soffit cleaning and pressure cleaning. These jobs really help with cash flow. We've done 17 gutter jobs in Jan/Feb totalling just under £7k, so a good average price, with most of them agreeing to every 6 months and the others once a year.
I haven't really pushed it much either but I have found you need to tell your customers what you do as they don't know. Why not get the maximum out of each customer?

Windows, outsides of gutters, fascias, soffits, conny roofs.

We used to guttervac but it dropped the hourly rate.  I'd give up conny roof cleans in a heartbeat if I could, for the same reason.

Charge more!

Problem solved :)

regular window cleaning is the backbone and good solid income all year round.f/s/g,conny roofs and solar panels as add ons using existing equipment.

most add on jobs i DONT GET as customers usually thinks its too expensive which suits me fine.they can be a PITA,harder work and take you away from your regular window cleaning jobs.some customers think its just a case of a quick scrub and rinse with the brush and your done.they usually take an hour or two so charge well and funnily enough you dont mind cleaning them then! ;D

theres  more job satisfaction when you do a full UPVC clean and/or a really dirty conny roof.the customers are usually very happy too. :)
price higher/work harder!

Agree with Dazmond, I stopped doing/getting add on jobs when I stopped doing them for next to nothing.

That's the thing I have started doing from the beginning of this year, pushing it a lot more. I meant I hadn't really pushed it before. Obviously from the results I can see the benefits.

No that's just gutters and three GFS cleans. One customer for the last four months of last year we 'rinsed' the patio area every 4 weeks along with cleaning the windows, which was ridiculous but I'm not going to turn it down! We did one patio clean in January. Generally I find with pressure cleaning we don't get too much as there's lots of gardeners who do it (not very well mind you) so we don't do a massive amount of that. Gutters is good money, especially where there's lots of trees and people won't do it themselves, whereas a patio they'll get a karcher for £120 and be happy with the result.

Indeed Smudger  8)

Also it's good for me and the guy who works for me as it breaks the monotony of window cleaning.

Funnily enough I'm thinking of pushing gutter services a lot, offering more repairs etc. We did a big job last year where we acrypoled the inside of the gutters using a cherry picker and earned a good wedge for a day in the sun on a Sunday.

Although my website says we do add ons I'm trying to stick to windows by mass advertising, con roofs and fascias are poorly rewarded and some people are picky not worth the hassle and poorly paid, this is what happened to me last week. I was cleaning a front and customer comes out and says "if you clean the cladding down I'll give you a extra pound". :-X

That what happens when you're predominately a window cleaner as most customers are price conditioned so don't want to pay much for add-ons especially when the window cleaning prices are very reasonable. However I've found if you specialise in exterior property cleaning people don't mind paying top dollar for jobs. Weird I know but talking from experience I get top dollar work even from customers that already have a regualar window cleaner.

I had a call today from a chap asking if I did gutter clearing. Doh!
Turns out he looks after quite a few posh properties but don't have a long enough ladder so wanted me to sub for him.
Calls me back almost straight away and said his client that lives in a gated comminity would prefer to go directly with me.
Next I get a call from his customer saying he was supposed to have done it a while ago so can I come and sort it out and I will make it worth your while. I hold my breath as I know how tight some wealthy people can be ;D

Some pretty big houses, a couple of blocks of flats and a couple of regular sized houses. I wouldn't say they are thick, but they are happy to pay for a trustworthy, reliable, friendly service. Always bear in mind that these are jobs they can't or won't do themselves, or they don't want to spend ages trying to find someone who may or may not be any good, so when I sell them my company I have justified my price, emailed them a professional quote outlining everything we will do and also point out any other bits that need fixing they are happy to pay.
My van, business cards, quote forms and invoices are all professional looking with consistent branding. It instills confidence.

Its funny how it works, I quoted one job at £120, quite a small house but completely blocked, plants growing out of all of them, a down pipe would have had to come off and all sorts. She said no and went with someone for £90. The next day we got accepted to clear gutters on a block of flats for £635 which took one guy 3 hours whilst I cleaned the windows - now they could have shopped around and got it cheaper, but they wouldn't know who to trust.

I would say a high proportion of jobs I do for customers already have a regular window cleaner and seem very loyal to them as have been cleaning their windows for years.
