I woke up this morning and said to Wor Lass, 'Come on, let's take the day off and go to the pictures', and it didn't take much to twist her arm to agree.
So we spent the day 'mincing around'.
Then this afternoon I heard on the radio that statistically, today (the first Monday in February) owns the highest rate of 'sick days' for the British working population.
Coincidence?
Probably.
Did anyone else decided not to work today (Monday)?

It was on Richard & Judy too Tosh.
I went to work although I should have stayed home today - bit icky. :-[
Hubby went though - I kicked him out at 9.30 ::)

Funnily enough, I took today off but I really have been sick :(
Picked up some virus a ferw days ago and it just seems to be past its peak now. Hope to be back in action soon but tomorrow (Tuesday) might be a bit early for me.

Funnily enough I had my best monday for ages.
Did the sort of turnover usually associated with wednesdays or thursdays.
Great, as it means the pressure's off already.
Just need to get the same amount done sometime over next 4 days, and my living costs are covered. :)

Get your work done early in the week, ease up as the week progresses.

I didn't go out to work as such, but did do my mailshots so sort of work but no w/cleaning

I got most of today's work done last week! Even though the top section of my pole froze solid and couldn't close it; so had to lug 12 feet of it round, rather than the six when it's closed!
Anyway, it was great to just have a 'sneaky' Monday off. I think we ought to do it more often; at least once a month.
I don't want this to turn out to be a WFP versus ladders thread, but since getting a WFP I can knock three days (and a bit) of ladder work out in two days.
So I've no worries with catching up; even if we have rain; I'll work.
I'm a Geordie. There's a difference between being 'soft' or 'lazy'.
I'm in the latter category; on occassion. ;)

the wfp came into its own on upstairs and conservatories .
At the end of the day i was about 1 hour quicker overall.

I allways work Mondays.
If I get a big day on Mon & Tues I start to ease up for the rest of the week, Unless I Decide to try to break my record for the highest earnings.
I would rather have a Friday off then a Monday. The money has been earned and I like to have a long weekend. If you dont work Monday you are allways playing catch up.

before i went wfp always had monday off, couldnt face it.
now iget going cause i like a lazy end to a week. ;D ;D ;D

I used my pole on everything today and the pole was slower than the squeegie on bungalows and a lot of downstairs windows.
the wfp came into its own on upstairs and conservatories .
At the end of the day i was about 1 hour quicker overall.
Many of my bungalows, with easy to reach windows; I too just squeegie.
However, with large blocks of work which involve first floor work, I find I can get round them very quickly with a WFP.
Wor Lass follows behind doing the ground floor and when I get too far ahead, I stop using the WFP and start working on the ground floor.
When I get to within a house of two of her, I go back to WFP and we repeat the process.
On Friday we did a large row of terraced houses; mostly one after each other. The fronts are very simple with WFP as it's very easy access. The rear is a bit of a pain and each back-garden has steps; and some have extensions with flat roofs.
Using ladders this row was one normal ladder days work.
With WFP we fitted in - on top of our normal ladder day - two decent sized shops (in and out), a medium sized pub (in and out), eight flats and four terraced houses; one with a conservatory and one new clean (in our large row of terraced houses).
We couldn't have done all this extra work prior to WFP.
Not without being absolutely knackered anyway.

I had a really good day today.
Did a day and a halfs work and i was just plodding along.
Strange how you just take your time and the end of the day you have more done.
On the way home i heard on the radio it was national sickie day.

Totally agree Nel, that's why I'm so pleased with myself today. :)
Another decent day tomorrow and the rest of the week is making spending money. :D

Did ok today seeing as i had to take the missus to work this morning. 8.45am start finished at 4.15.
used to be able to skive off a bit, but getting too busy to take days off here and there now. must be getting used to the ££££££ signs. ;D

You need to get the Monday in or the rest of the week is messed up.
