We don't do these gaffs for £30.00 an hour. If we did insides and out the cost would be £135.00 and we all know it'd be more than that for insides and out.

£30 x 6 actual working hours= £180

£180 x 5 days = £900

£900 - Van, fuel, some advertising, system, filters, poles, accountant, stationary, etc etc.....

= Not really that much in comparison with any other job!

Im sure there are plenty of window cleaners out there on much more than £30 per hour. They just don't come on here telling everyone about it.

I thought back then 8 yrs ago many were doing £20 p/hr.

I flit between this and 0ther rate but unfortunately the lower of the two rates seems to be the norm.

Don't see the need to tell others how much I earn an hour or how much my new pole cost or would not clean that property for less than double what most would quote.

£30 an hour is poor when you take off all expenses, as said £30 x6 is £180 take off £50 tax and ni£10/£20 fuel! That takes your £30 an hour down to £20 an hour. if you then look deeper cost of equipment needs covering then you have water costs/ van depreatiation food/drink whilst working van tax, van insurance, van servicing..... The list goes on.... Then that £20 soon ends up £10 an hour which isnt much to write home about at all.

I never tell anyone what I earn, but I do like people to know how much I paid for my pole, all my customers know.
