We are stripping/cleaning/sealing a York stone kitchen floor.

The old seal on the floor was a nightmare to get off,
it looked liked they had gone over and over it with some DIY product which left the floor dark brown.
We have used Aqua Mix Sealer & Coating Remover with a rotary and medium brush to try and take up the old seal and I'm pretty happy apart from the pits/dimples on some flagstones which seem to be stubbornly holding on to the old stain. Is it just a case of perseverance and trying a stripper again or is their another way of getting the old seal out of the pits.

Put some honing powder onto floor when you scrub the your coating remover.

I did use honing powder, but did not have much left tbh.
I will order some more and give it another go. We are going back after the Easter holidays.

Are you supposed to apply the Aqua Mix Sealer & Coating Remover neat or pre-wet the floor like you do with a high alkaline solutions also do you use the rotary to scrub it neat or with added water. I have used strippers before where you dilute them, ie on vinyl floors but have never used this product before. Also I have a very hard brush attachment for the rotary that I have never used, would it be too risky to try this.

I think the key for sealing and coating remover is dwell. Kev will prob correct me.

Did you try a tynex brush, I found that worked well on a York floor I did recently.

I've just finished a very similar job in a local pub, nightmare to do but got good results.
Pre wet the floor apply scr leave to dwell, agitate, dwell, agitate, apply heavy duty tile and grout cleaner with some 220 honing powder, agitate, dwell , vac off, rinse, vac off, rinse, vac of then return the next day and repeat

When you have floors this bad and believe me the one Dave Washbrook had was really bad then it can be stripped a lot faster using our Diamond Brushes but for this method to work effectively you need speed.  They work to a certain degree on a 400rpm + Mono Rotary but the absolute best results are from a 1000RPM +.  The downside is very few people have the machinery to produce this speed and the brushes are not cheap.  We have just had a guy strip a 32M2 floor using the brushes but he has a Levighetor and he did it in a very short time.  So much so that he had to slow the process down.  Unless the floors are really bad the Sealing & Coating Remover coupled with the honing powder and a soft to medium or Tynex Brush are usually the best way to tackle it unless you invest in the best equipment.  Alternatively I now also hire this equipment out.

That's because your brush was revolving at 200rpm and Graeme used his at 1000rpm

What sort of seal is generally used on these interior floors? I have a friend who makes stripper in his garden shed...maybe it would work. I could send somebody some to try. He makes it out of water and something else.

Any tips for stripping corners and other nooks and crannies.  Did a slate floor this week with the corners taking ages with a hand brush.
