Why are you so shocked Kevin>?

You appear surprised that no one is taking you up on your generous work offer.

On your advice, Kevin, I opened a Thread entitled "How many of us feel comfortable cleaning or polishing a Stone Floor", you may have seen it?
Over 300 people read it, there were 26 replies of which 2 or 3 admitted to being able to do the work.

I hope I dont offend when I suggest to you..
Maybe, instead of advertising/offering work, you would do better targetting people to attend your course?
They could then take the work from you, in a similar way that the Tile Doctor works.

I for one would be very interested in any work, nationwide, but the type of work that is on offer demands a serious machine such as a Levigehtor and until then, I have to decline as I simply cannot afford the outlay....do you do credit? ;D

I was shocked at the floor, cappacino I think it was, the lippage of 4mm is a disgrace and your view of making a silk purse from a sows ear was never more fitting!
The fitter of that floor should be shot!
In my opinion, only a Levighetor or similar, would be capable of such stock removal, you are obviously too busy to travel to do the work?

I hope this message sounds ok, as I have been accused of sounding aggressive on a previous thread, it is not my intention to offend anyone or sound aggressive.

I am not shocked at all!  In my humble opinion there are not many people around who can do a job like that but in all honesty we were not in a position to do it because of other commitments and the overall distance involved.  The price would have needed to encompass 12 hours travelling for two guys and in reality we all know that a bit of traffic and  it would be two days lost.  I get told by Tile Doctor people how much success they have had removing lippage with the Hybrid system I just thought a Tile Doctor trained guy could have taken it on!  Or even better it would be a perfect scenario for Russell to do a live demonstration on!  He could then demonstrate just how good these pads are!

Hi Kevin, thanks for taking the time to reply.
In my opinion, the Hy-Brids are good, but I am not sure that they would be up to removing upto 4mm of stock, the only thing I would be confident with is a Levighetor and diamonds. I spoke to Tony yesterday about a Levighetor, when time allows, I will be back down to see you and go through the training for it.
I have done a couple of grinding jobs and a few repolishing ones with 100% success, but I know that with the proper kit, it will be much easier, my machine came from Posh Floors (you will remember it as you P*ssed yourself laughing at it) The only way forward is with a Levighetor and the diamonds.

The reason for lack of take up on you generous offer is 2 fold. 1/ Most who visit this part of the forum are not sure whether to take it up and learn, most remain undecided.
2/ Those who do have the training have had a crap take up for the service resulting in them going rusty in the techniques needed. The more you carry out a task, the more competent and confident you become. Despite all the training in the world, without practical experience on a daily basis you can never be good at the job in hand.
