Cant beat 'Round up Pro' (not the same as sold via DIY stores) we generally treat after cleaning then its possible to add residual as well... Has been some previous posts in the past, if you use a knapsack should be licenced  ;D

Yes your right you need a knapsack sprayer licence before you can use the good stuff when it comes to weedkillers, or you can hire a propane gas burner which you dont need a licence for and this just burns the weeds of straight away.
Try Tile Doctor -Pro-clean for cleaning outdoor Tile and Stone its Alkaline based so wont harm anything.

Glysophate (round-up etc)sprayed onto the weed leaf when actually growing ..it does not work when just sprayed onto th soil for this you need a residual weedkiller with round up etc is not. When glyphosate comes into contact with the soil, it can be rapidly bound to soil particles and be inactivated.Spray the block paving a a couple of days before cleaning.Although after a couple of days there will no visible difference in the weeds the damage has been done and any weed root structure left in the ground after cleaning will soon die off.
