What are these like guys, was thinking about getting the axeon hf5 but wondered what the spectrum membranes are like?

Had them in our ro a couple of years ago. They were ok, water quality was pretty good but they fouled up a bit quicker than the HF5's that we had previously.

We use the hf4 from Gaps with a booster pump
Really good production and good rejection rate
I really hammer ours they last about a year to 15 months but I put about 48, 000 plus a week through ours at about 60/40 so it’s constantly in use
Used them for years heard the AK 40/40 is good but alot more expensive just shy £300 inc

Thanks guys I’m building my own ro system, only to produce about 4-500 litres a day but need to do it in the van as I don’t want a holding tank.
I’ve bought the 4040 housing and bought a spectrum twin 20” pre filter set from gardiner that looks really well put together with gauges so thought why not look at the spectrum membrane too and I’ve been offered one for £150 as opposed to the £200 odd I was gonna spend on an hf5 and just wondered is it worth paying the difference for the hf5, will it produce faster and better ppm?
My tap pressure is 60psi and flow is 12-13 litres a minute with 76 ppm reading?

At 76ppm I would DI only. Especially if you are on a water meter.
Twin or triple Di and you should get about 7000ltrs of water from a bag

I would go with HF5 every time. At 60 psi you just quite aren't in the best operating window for an Axeon HF4 membrane (80 - 105psi.)
The HF5 operates in a window of 50 - 100psi. Honestly, I would go for an Axeon and pay the extra. My membrane is over 5 years old and still producing water at 98% efficiency.

cheers pal im currently twin di from the van and im going through a bag of resin every 5-6 weeks, used to be ok when i was building work up but now i have a packed round its costing me in a bag of mb115 every month or so, so i thought i may as well build a 4040 system in the van and save in the long run!
im certain resin just isnt good as quality as it used to be too ???

thanks pal thats what im thinking, pay the extra for better quality, ive already saved on the ro housing and got a used axeon housing for £20 then bought the spectrum housing from gardiner when they was £20 off too lol so just prefilters and membrane now as i already have the di bottles and resin.
