Oh, buy plenty of blades; they don't last too long and don't leave your scraper in your bucket in a belt overnight.  It just turns to rust if you do.

I don't think I've ever changed more than one blade on a scraper ever.

By the time I need to, it's rusted solid.
I always end up buying a new one.

Carry a small pair of pliers too, cos the blades rust in place, quite hard to remove, but still visciously sharp so keep your fingers away.  Soapnational's good.
By the way you are looking for a scraper...If you're looking for a scrapper my mates got a Doberman or a Jack Russell.

Personally, I don't like those retractable ones.  They seize up too easily.  I prefer those ones that can swivel (can't recall their name).

That's the one I was referring to.  They fit in a squeegee handle too if necessary.

Yep they are pretty good, but as someone said take pliers to remove blade they can be awkward to change if left in too long.

Yes they can be awkward if left in too long.  I usually just push them through with a screwdriver - taking care of my fingers of course.

I think the 4inch Unger ones are the top of the range versatile but you have to take care when changing the blades.
Because you can open and reverse them you can clip them into a standard squeegee handle they are tops for big initial cleans, and of course you can then attach them to extention poles.

There is the retractable stanley razor scraper, this is a nifty one too, smaller so not as useful for large areas as the Unger one, but ideal to have in your pocket for nipping off recalcitrant bits of bird poo!
Got to be careful changing these blades too, and they can be fairly fragile in use.

The good old stanley scraper, with an ordinary stanley blade in them is now a useful tool for me.
As I am a WFP'er now, I find it great to wedge into the end of my Unger poles to get off the odd bit of dried on bird poo from upstairs windows.
Not a lot of use for WFP users with other poles, but with the Unger ones it fits in just great

We have tried all sorts of scrapers, with out doubt the best is the Ettore Champion!

It has a double sided blade which lasts, (unless used on builders cleans!)for ages. It is easy and safe to change the blade, and if you use a pouch,  they can be put in that, or the handle stuffed in the pocket! We never use anything else.
