Is it still a plastic wand head glued to an alum. pipe?

As I understand it, at those prices, you could purchase a titanium wand.

Is there something in the water?

The T/M version shown at the CCDO as we know is 6 jet 16", no 1's, 4x110, 2x95 at the ends.

the ones for 150, 300, 500 psi are 2 jet, 12", no other info yet.
hoped they would have been at least 14", 4 jet for the higher of those pressures

taken from the Don Jon website;

When tested against other traditional wands, the Evolution removed twice the moisture of the next best performing wand.

ABSOLUTE CRAP!!

this is impossible, I must already remove at least 50% of the moisture from the carpet, according to Don Jon this wand would remove double, so the carpet would be totally dry.

Your maths are not quite correct. ;)   If you remove 50% and they reckon this wand removes 50% more than you already do, that makes a total of 75% removal

i have the evolution wand on loan at the moment, it's the 16" that was at wolverhampton, i have been using it whenever i can bearing in mind it is 16" wide. it's good. very light, it has a slotted glide on it so it picks up all sorts of c**p on the carpet but is easy to push/pull, the 16" has a 2" vac tube so with a truck mount it SUCKS and i mean that in a good way!!! the head is quite large as it is an all in one constuction, the down side to that is that it's not always easy to get under say low radiators, the wand head gets in the way, but if that's a worry, it only takes a couple of secs to change to say a stair tool to reach under there and most radiators are well off the floor anyway. personally i like a hybrid glide and i don't know if they are available or indeed the price of a new glide. the wand does 'give' a little on some carpets and that feels odd but it doesn't feel like it would break at all. the only real downside to the 16" wand that has 6 jets is that there is no splash guard and the outer jets don't seem to reach the full width of the wand, this could be a problem when it comes to rinsing up to the skirting board, i have been turning the wand at an angle to spray and then rinse or hitting the edges from full on as it were. i don't know about this issue with the other wands in the series, ie the 1.5" vac tube models.
some of the lads at the sdo said that it compared favourably with their ti wands regards weight, ie it is very light

all in all i think it is a very good wand and i hope that john gott, hydramster, has forgotten i have the wand on loan!!

no offence meant here to portys but anyone with a truck-mount thinking of the 16" tool, make sure you get at least a hybrid glide on it, been using the wand a lot this week and a few times i have given up with it as it sucks too much with the slotted glide, it's ok if it's on an open weave type carpet but if the carpet is low profile you can hardly move the da** thing!  it's the 2" vac barrel that makes the difference i think, with the 1.5" tube it is probably ok.

I have just recently brought a green glides wand and i must say im more than impressed with it. It cleans amazing and the dryin times are fantastic.

Im sure this evoultion wand cleans just as well but like i find with computers, you buy one and another souped uped amazing new super new model always comes out. ???

For me im staying with the greenglides wand as like everything new there is lots of hype surrounding it. I made the decision to spend £500 on the greenhorn as im really happy with it and cleaning carpets at 500psi is amazing. I was worried about the drying times but after spending a week phoning the customers to see the drying times i was impressed. The only thing is ive noticed i use a lot more water but it sure seems to flush the dirt out quicked

Luc the Greenhorn is supplied with jets flow totaling 8 i got another set giving me the more standard 6 flow.

However i agree the wand seems to flush the dirt out of the carpet with the 8 flow but i was using to much water.

I now swap to suite the carpet i love the wand and with the 12" head it is not to heavy. :)

Hi carpet guy,

I dont obviously use 500psi on everyjob ie wool or fairly clean carpets, i have howerver had several dirty end of tenneacy jobs and have found that when working at say 300 the greenhorn dose not seem to flush it as throughly as at 500, I'm not sure if this is because the jets are angled differant. When i was using my old 2jet westpack wand i never went over 350. I emailed greenglides and he assured me to try cleaning at higher psi and i must admit i was nervous at first but cleaning sone dirty nightclub at 500psi is amazing and defiantly cleans quicker i have found

If you are watching, look at the wand you got with the TM and if you are pushing that all day  (remember it's stuck to the carpet) then a nice wand will help you loads, I have a Titanium wand £800 plus the vat and it is far easier to use than my Westpak by a country mile, an Evo wand at these prices are a steal although I'm not buying one it would have saved me loads.

A wand is not just for Christmas it's for life - your life! make it easier on yourself.

The evolution has a 1 1/2" and a 2" version. It is made of Aircraft aluminum and has an adjustable grip handle. Note the glide at the base (head) of the wand. Handles 500 psi pressure on the truckmount version.

Light? Yes, very. There are several leaving on container to HydraMaster in Cornwall that I'm aware of.

If it were titanium it would cost a fortune as I just measured the tube thickness, it's roughly 3 times thicker walled than the prochem titanium wand.

The spec' states " aircraft grade aluminiun " and why would anyone be concerned about the tube ad head being bonded with adhesive, that's the way golf club heads are attached to shafts, instead of the old method of rivetting, which eventually broke down...............this has been the case for 30 years and Ican assure you, it's pretty easy to detach a rivetted head, but extremely difficult to remove a bonded one.

Yes, another part of my past working life. As a golf pro, part of the job is repairing clubs.

Incidentally, for portable owners, there is a 1 1/2 " Evolution wand for nearly half the cost of the 2".

It's funny you mention "for portable users", I would say porty users have jsut as much if not more need for a 2" vacuum tube on their wand as the TM crowd does...it's all about making the extraction process as efficient as possible and taking every advantage presented to us. Same goes for 2" hose of course.

It's not directed at anyone in particular, but when as an "industry" did we get off track with all this 1.5" hose and tool stuff being for porties in the first place?

I say we break the chain today, and abolish all tiny hose, from here on out all machines will be set up to run 2" hose!  Here, here?
