SEBO Vacs 'v' MAC Vacs
« on: June 27, 2013, 09:16:17 pm »
I am pleased that you are doing another range of Vacs Kevin. Yesterday morning, I phoned Antony to tell him that my MAC vac that I bought from you wasn't picking up. Antony kindly looked at your sales history and told me that I bought it in July last year. He then kindly phoned MAC and I was told they would ring me back if not today, probably tomorrow.
I am still waiting for their call, 2 days on....  >:(

The moral of this story...
When I need another Vac, it will NOT be a MAC, I will gladly take a look at your new range. ;)

Nothing annoys me more than half a story!  I was listening yesterday morning when you rang Antony and he also said if they don't ring you call me back and I will sort it. Instead you decide to come on here and air a view about a machine that is totally unfair and out of order.  You have the 2nd only wet vac that has developed a fault out of 1000's we have sold you have also been using it trouble free for 11 months.  So because someone never called you you make a statement like "I won't be buying another one"  Jesus there could be a 100 good reasons why you weren't called including you may have been engaged when they rang or did your phone not ring at all yesterday.  So then instead of doing what Antony asked you to and ringing him back yesterday or today you decide to put this post on!!!

MAC International are distributors of Scrubber Driers and Wet Vacs. One of the brands they Distribute is Gecko and that is the Wet Vac you have.  I am totally confused as to why you are comparing them with SEBO who make dry vacuums for the commercial and domestic market and don't even make wet vacs.

Rob I consider our customer service to be the very best but even we need a chance!  Call me tomorrow with the details of the fault and I will deal with it for you as Antony is away at a wedding until Monday.

My God Kevin!!!
You are so arrogant aren't you?
My message on here has in no way slagged off YOU...ANTONY or your company.
I have a problem with MACs "customer Service" ARE YOU BLIND or simply an idiot? Why dont you put this energy into having a go at your supplier NOT your CUSTOMER?

I even said I would buy another Vac from YOU!
Well, you can shove all your Vacs up your Ar*e, I am sure they will fit! I would personally place that piece of rubbish you sold my up there if I live a bit closer!
I cannot believe your attitude. Who do you think you are?
All I ever read on here is your arrogant rants when something isnt going YOUR way isnt it?

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR....STOP BEING SO ARROGANT. PEOPLE MAY EVEN LIKE YOU THEN.

There is no need for an abusive post like that!  I am sorry if you find my post arrogant as well.  Please try and understand the World doesn't stop because you have a problem with a Vac.  Try and think the issue through logically and if you decide to let me know what the fault is with your Vac,  call me and I will speak to MAC International for you and get it sorted!  They are normally very good with customer service but as I said in my last post perhaps they tried to ring you and couldn't get through or maybe the customer services manager had a personal problem.  I simply don't know because I don't even know what is wrong with your Vac!  Your decision.

He hasn't burnt his bridges!  I took that post with a pinch of salt!  It wouldn't have made a jot of difference to me if the machine was over 12 months old I would still get it sorted for him.  Customer service to us is paramount as far as we are concerned.  I have just sorted out two guys with burnt out motors on SEBO's and neither of them even bought off us!

When you purchase from Tiling Logistics you are paying for aftercare service as well!

Thanks to both of you for your messages.
I got the Vac sorted today, cost £40, but at least its working again.
What got to me was...I was expected to do the ringing back???
My contract is with Tiling Logistics, not MAC. I phoned Antony (who was VERY helpful) and was told that MAC would contact me, as you would expect. Antony did say, if I didnt hear anything, to let him know...but my point is, MAC should have rung back, it is not down to me to do the chasing.
No intention of burning bridges, I probably replied to Kevs message too quickly without giving it some thought.

Anyway, its all sorted now. Back to work I go. ;D

ps
still not heard from MAC :-\

Tell me what was wrong with it!  Tell me what you had to do purchase or do to get it sorted and I will then deal with MAC and get the money refunded!  Antony is away on a wedding weekend and I was in hospital all of yesterday afternoon!  If you don't tell me I can't sort it can I?

Don't worry. It only cost me 40 quid.
The problem was, It wasn't picking up at all, even on 3 motors running.
What annoyed me was the lack of response from MAC, Antony did his bit. MAC let you and me down.

OK I understand and really glad you got it sorted!   However, I am trying to work out what part you got fixed because usually the fault you have described means the ball in the float valve cage is dirty and therefore cannot move up and down freely.  That is the usual symptom anyway!  I would like to know what it was for future reference please!

Apparently, the seal on the hose that connects to the vac was knackered and the seal inside the vac on the top of the tank had some sort of hard adhesive that must hold the seal in place from new, that had come away, creating a void and therefore the vac couldn't suck. The seal itself was/is ok.

So do you mean the connector that goes into the vac with the shoulder on it?  Had that come unscrewed off the hose?  When you say the seal at the top do you mean where it drops onto the waste container?  Sorry to be pedantic but I need to explain it to MAC so I can get your £40 back!

The seal on the end of the hose that connects to the machine needed replacing and the seal that seals the top part of the vac (the motor) to the bottom part (the tank) this seal looks like it is stuck with an adhesive from new. The problem with it is, when it dries, it becomes hard and brittle. When it starts to come away from the seal and the machine, it creates a void, this void allows air leakage and leads to loss of suction.

With the utmost respect don’t think it’s a warranty issue, more a maintenance issues!!! Got any pictures of the offending items, and I just love to pop suppliers for there lack of back up, and you paid 40quid you are definitely not from Yorkshire  ;D ;)

Definitely from Yorkshire. I'd rather get it fixed for 40 quid than sit around doing nothing!!

WOW!!! Very Impressed.

Now for the sad news, I paid him cash!!

Don't worry about it Kevin....I am honestly not bothered. I got the vac back working again, that was a priority.

You have walked the extra mile and I am really REALLY grateful for what you have done. If only everyone could be as "on the ball" life would be sooooo much better.

Thanks Kevin.
