Stone Floor Damage
« on: October 15, 2011, 07:58:32 pm »
Bit of a problem.  One of my cleaners has used Cillit Bang to clena some plastic chairs.  Unfortumately they were standing on a natural stone floor and the Cilllit Bang appears to have quite badly marked quite a large area of floor.

I believe the acid in the Cillit Bang has reacted with the Calcium Carbonate eroding parts of it away.

Anyone come across this and have any solutions.  Could a stone floor restorer polish the floor and repair the damage or are we looking at a new floor?

Any help much appreciated

I am sure you have a buffing machine! Use wet/dry emery paper under your buffer
starting with grit 120 and finishing with grit 600. Finishing the last stage using polishing powder or vitrifying chemical to get a good shine. You can get the powder or chemical from DIVERSY or get in touch with 3M to get diamond polishing pads. This is a very easy process and dont be afraid to experiment, its not rocket science technology, just common sense. Like wise look up and get technick from UTUBE.
